Rick and Morty explores the multiverse. It even comes up with some kind of multiverse alliance and multiverse police in the form of the council of Ricks.
This should actually be logical development of the Federation. We already see that there is a time police and time ships in the future. But the frequency with which Star Trek deals with parallel universes makes regulation of travel to these universes and their exploration more likely.
