Futurama suffered because The Simpsons didn't end. Fox would have kept Futurama going for as long as they could if they lost The Simpsons

A lot of the earlier episodes were good but I found very little value in re-watching it.

Futurama is shit, I re-watched the show recently and it wasn't that good, most of the humor is awful and dated (EyePhone, Lucy Liu, Judge show etc..) and the "muh feels" shit is forced and comes across as embarrasing at times.

And the characters are shit too, all of them are one-note and doesn't get proper development until like 5 seasons later

I was a teen during it's initial 4 season run and it was NOT underrated in the slightest, everyone watched it.
No one gave a shut when it was rebooted though and for good reason.

Final space has great visuals and is almost comfy enough to that, too bad the main guy sounds fucking awful and the writing was so half arsed. Lot of potential but severely ruined.

It was FOX's own stupidity. It was constantly preempted by football without warning, and then they would either fail to advertise what night the repeat was on or they just wouldn't air it at all. I seethed so many times as a kid when the football games would go late/

I was surprised it got cancelled at least twice considering how much longer other shows go one pas their expiry date and how much more potential there is to do in space/future than in comparison to typical suburban american home (Simpsons/Family Guy/American dad).

it was canceled for its own good, look at zombie simpsons at season fucking 34 or something. Futurama is much more consistent, while the reboot isn't as good it also doesn't have the sheer drop in quality that sneedsons S9+ has. Some rubbish episodes (eyephone) but also some kino ones (time travel ones)
