Why would he know the number based on it being one more than the year the magna carta was signed? That's like memorizing your pin number because its elvis's birth day. Pure trivia.

because he was an obsessed boomer, his world of law and order was turned upside down by his brother and looking back on the olden days is his only cope. also he was a lunatic who thought he was allergic to electromagnetic waves

Chuck’s a smart man, unlike his brother jimmy who defecated through a sun roof. Oh but it couldn’t be jimmy... not our precious jimmy!

Right about everything

brainlet

A lawyer like Chuck would definitely know when the great legal document the Magna Carta was signed.

He could just look it up on westlaw. Lawyers are jsut overpaid librarians.

>why would a lawyer know when was the most famous legal decree signed

Chuck.. easy on the feed and seed

Ever since he was up around 9.5

Chuck isn’t an average lawyer. He’s Chuck.

She's gonna get fucked over in s6

How did an entire court room humor Chucks mental illness?

Chuck has the professional status and reputation to be given the benefit of the doubt.

>Chuck the best lawyer in the show and a man completely obsessed with law wouldn't know when the fuckin' magna carta was signed?
it's exactly the type of thing an autist like Chuck would know.

Chuck's

I think that just speaks the weight of Chucks influence

fucked over or just plain fucked

Initially the later, but then the former

Killing off Chuck was a mistake

>benefit of the doubt
I mean, it seemed incredibly cut and dry that it was a mental illness. The idea that someone is allergic to electricity and it's somehow only him despite the entire world having electricity was absurd

yeah but are you gonna tell the co starter of a huge ass company he's mentally ill during court?
it's like when your grandpa goes into a random rant about a certain race everyone knows he's retarded but they put up with it out of respect

how is it absurd? does that mean homosexuality is a mental illness despite the entire world being hetrosexual

It's not exactly the same. If I had a family member insisting that we cannot use electrical devices, even including light bulbs, around them, I'd have to have a conversation about getting them help.
Even more so if he disconnected electricity from his home because he believes it harms him. Same for not being able to leave the house for years without a space blanket

Futurely Sneed

>It seemed incredibly cut and dry

Not to me, but that’s kind of because I’m prone to the same types of thinking as Chuck.

Even Jimmy is never really sure because as he says to the psychiatrist “Chuck is the smartest guy I know and you can’t argue him out of it.” Because you know, he understands electromagnetic radiation far better than the average person and points to studies in obscure Swedish medical journals or whatever. He can always back it up in the show until he can’t.

It's not trivia, the Magna Carta is one of the foundational documents of the Anglo-American legal tradition. And he's smart, so he remembers this stuff

Jimmy knew it as well, when Chuck was in the hospital the doctor casually turned on the electrical buttons on the table Chuck was laying on and he didn't react at all. Jimmy even made a comment about it being a low blow or some shit.
Jimmy just didn't want to have the conversation about Chuck being mentally ill, but he knew

well gee I sure hope so, I don't think he was intending to kill his brother with that phone battery
