What did a24 mean by this: the movie

It's kino.
it's about how western society is an oppressive death cult
>tfw a girl will never let you eat her pubes and drink her menstruatral blood
it’s not fair bros
>no but really, what the fuck is midsommar?
wypipo be crazy dawg shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
What do you mean? It's pretty straightforward, I don't think there's all that much to it thematically beyond what's right there in the story
It’s not The Wicker Man it what it is.
I’m not being a contrarian stick in the mud here but seriously Midsommar is a horrible movie
>all we get of the ‘outside’ world and to establish character and context is 20 minutes of Pogh crying and the guys being basic dick stereotypes
>get to the festival and it’s pretty much all over the rest is a drawn out exposition dump basically watching live mice trapped in a cage waiting to die
>the director thinks we’re rooting for the guys to make it out alive so when he kills them it’s like he’s winking and nudging is on the shoulder “hehe I bet you were rooting for the guys to live right? WRONG” when actually we didn’t want them to do anything other than die the whole time
>people have the gall to say DUDE THIS IS LIKE AN ACID TRIP ITS SO CRAZY when all it has going for it is a few well done choreographed scenes and costumes, but it all still feels pretty flat
Really enjoyed the foreshadowing in this movie
the director is jewish
I wanted the QT to become unhinged and it delivered. Too bad the main plot was a bit mweh.
why were there other people at the start of the movie at the ceremony in non white clothes? wtf happened to them
Yo white people be crazy and shit
>White people crazy and deserve to die
>the a24 stare

My little brother was like this, think he saw it in theaters 2 or 3 times. I love the guy so I didn’t rain on his parade. I don’t think I could sit through this whole movie again but I would jump around and watch a couple of the death scenes again
its like horror film that follows the quiet/loud dynamics of post rock, and the level of gore can be shocking, i liked the snore sound when black dude got mallet
Literally did nothing wrong
he was too ugly to live
i didn’t understand the bit where all the girls were crying with each other, were they mocking her or were the genuinely sad? also were the also in the same boat as the main girl where they were forced into the cult?
acted like a hardass about the psychedelics but couldn't handle his shit
It is propaganda, an attack on white people and European culture. They don't mean anything, but there is a clear intention: making you feel like shit and associating this emotion with certain stimuli.
Also the location was beyond retarded. Looks nothing like Scandinavia. For this reason it is trash by itself.
Ari Aster is a jew he hates all non-jews, even made a hit piece on black americans.
how accurate is the portrayal of them taking shrooms and drugs? is it really like that?
It is clearly an assault on white identity and culture, meant to portray both as creepy and evil. I don't need to look up the filmmakers to know they're Jews.
To put it in perspective, imagine if this had instead been a film about Americans visiting an Israeli kibbutz that practices blood libel and human sacrifice, or an African village that practices shamanism and cannibalism.
only one way to find out
I think they held her to a high esteem so they felt the need to empathize and I guess ‘channel her grief’ in some strange way that feels relevant to them.
This is the low IQ take. It's not an assault on whiteness, it's just an occult film made to fuck with your head. And I don't mean that in the way that it's a film about the occult, I mean the film itself is occult. It's cursed, made in a specific way and filled with specific imagery to cause you mental distress. Everyone I know who watched this movie with a loved one had their relationship strained. It's evil, just not in the way you think.
>Everyone I know who watched this movie
Great source. Maybe people in your network are just a certain type of people.
I watched this and thought it was boring and edgy. My gf didn't like it. No strain at all.
Nothing really happened and I agree with
