>fiddle with power setting for the first time ever and forget
>movie i put on is, off all things, the Descent
>they get in the cave and it's pitch black
>it's scary as fuck and on of the most intense movie experiences i've ever had
>after about 20 minutes start to think it it's now sounding like they're talking about something i'm supposed to actually see
>move the mouse honly shit the screen was off
No, but movie is shit anyway. Jeremy renner made it watchable.
Yeah
omg this is a soi movie confirmed
how high were you?
You coudn't solve their simple language yourself?
kek. Although you were scared for that first bit, I suppose it left a bad taste in your mouth as you had to go back and rewatch the parts you'd just "seen".
Yes, with Godfather Part II. I didn’t understand the Italian dialogue in any of the scenes with young Vito, but I’m not a brainlet so I was still able to extrapolate the gist of what they were saying from their faces and reactions to each other.
die, druggie trash
no its a treasured memory. i also thought that it was really really bold film making and just wished afterwards there was any film really brave enough to do that.
After 5 minutes it would be enough to check, it could be a cool start but it would also be incredibly bold for a director to go more than 5 minutes with just black, no matter what movie
Happened to me with the same flick
>download The Boys
>asians speaking asian stuff
>get curious and turn on subtitles
>turns out it says what they are saying and I need subtitles on to understand the scene
>later French guy saying French stuff
>turn on subtitles
>(Yelling in French)
Left me confused honestly.
eh maybe it was 10 minutes i dunno. it was more than 5. it was still black while the stuff started happening.. dont want to say because people should watch the movie without knowing
>Go to theaters for my birthday to see War of the Worlds starring Tom Cruise
>Scene with aliens comes. Camera work is fantastic, never shows the aliens and leaves a lot of their appearance to the imagination.
>Audience member seeing the film for the second time starts complaining he can't see them this time.
>Thurns out theater projector was slightly off cutting the top portion of the film off the screen.
>Rewatch film later when it comes out on DVD (remember having to wait months for that?)
>Finally see aliens
>They are cheesy generic CGI grey blobs.
The film was so much better without seeing them on screen.
>this poster in laughter process
oh and it's not the start of the movie lol. they don't start in the cave
One of the single most irritating things ever is when subtitles say "speaking in Spanish" when the person says either a well known word like "bueno" or a phrase that has relevance in English even if you don't understand it (think "Hasta la vista, baby"). Its so stupid.
They were speaking Japanese and I am a big enough weeb to notice that the brother isn't a native speaker of it and the girl is at most a 2nd generation immigrant.

>download movie about the day of anders brevik shooting
>movie focuses on anders talking to a girl and it seems quite sympathetic to him wew
>it's like an hour in and there's nothing about the island
>i realize they did an incredibly bold and moving choice to make the film about the normal people and how normal small things in life are what matters and for you the audience not to get yourself up in stupid ideology or dramas of political movements etc
>the movie ends and doesn't show the island at all
>turns out it just an unrelated movie about another guy called anders
>arnold: Hasta la vista, baby
>subtitle [speaking spanish]
that would be hilarious lmao
I watched the first ~20 mins of A Ghost Story with my headphones not plugged in all of the way so the audio was MEGA distorted, and I thought that it was an artistic decision for the early argument parts. Then I accidentally bumped the cord and it pushed into the laptop and the audio was restored and I paused the movie and sat for 5 mins in silence realizing that I was just a retard.
This shit has happened to me so many times. Anytime someone speaks a different language and the subtitles don’t translate it, I’m left paranoid as to whether it was intentional on the movies part or if the torrent I have neglected proper subs.
Finding a copy of the Bourne movies with proper subs was a journey.
My first watch of Apocalypto was without subs and I really think the experience is better. You still understand what's going on. Without subs, you look more at facial expressions, tone of voice, etc etc. You "see" more of the movie and still understand everything perfectly fine.

Had the subs for the boys on day one.
happens all the time, hell even with the boys and scenes with kimiko and her brother, subs are not hard-coded so if you don't manually turn them on... yeah they just speaking anime whatever, must be not important

As I kid walked into a film thinking I was 10-15min late for like a 2pm film. So I'm expecting it to still be trailers and ads. Yet I was in the wrong theater and it was really the 1pm showing.
So the damn movie is like 2/3 done. I have no idea what the hell is going on, why the film is so deep into a story line already being to me, I'm only a few min late.
then I stayed to see the next showing, having already seen the end.
I spoiler'ed myself.
>Abbott is death process
God that's unintentionally hilarious. Arrival and Vilelalo suck so much dick
lmao based
Every movie I downloaded as a teen had gratuitous sex scenes, it wasn't before years down the line I realized Lime Wire wasn't exactly a reliable source for bootleg films.
I once watched War for the Planet of the Apes without subs for the apes' sign language.
I still havent watched the proper version
All you really need to know is "monkey smash"
