He's a great Peter Parker. It's unfortunate that they've made him play Iron Boy, instead of letting him playing Spider-Man.

At this point, I'm just glad we don't (yet) have the woke "urban" Spider-Man to deal with. Because we need more black characters, but the best we can do is hijack one that's already successful.

Having him be a dorky teen both inside and outside the costume is what's wrong. Peter got those powers at 15, and as a result he had to grow up quick. While his friends were debating what to see at the movies, he was going toe to toe with the likes of Rhino, the Lizard, or Goblin. In like two years he had more experience under his belt than most heroes see in a lifetime.

I feel like the MCU is constantly downplaying just how horrific Peter's life is. He works constantly at school, the Bugle, maintain a personal life, and most of all be Spider-Man. Half the reason hot girls flock to Peter is that he literally stopped giving a shit about them. Liz was all up on his Dick once he stopped looking in her direction. Highschool Peter was a sad sack aww shucks kind of kid. Peter was antisocial, withdrawn, and quiet. Not because he wanted to be, but because he was trying to maintain a distance so NONE of them would be at risk. Teen Peter is struggling to hold on but he'd rather not bog people down with his issues.

Bingo. After Gwen died Peter broke and pushed people away (because that's all he knows how to do). Mary Jane was in his social circle and saw what was happening to Peter and stepped forward. And Peter, not realizing that MJ actually cares for him, tries to push her away and to live the life she wants. MJ then takes a couple steps towards the door and slams it shut, showing that Peter isn't alone in his sorrow. He has people.

Definitely feels like the writing is to in grain him into the MCU to make any kind of future split terrible for both parties. So wrapped up in future negotiations they forgot to make an actual movie.

People don't. Young girls liked Tom Holland because he's cute, especially Asian girls for whatever reason. For the most part, people really didn't like him as Spider-Man, and his movies didn't do that well.
