I don't care what you say. This looks fucking awesome. I am always ready to hate on a reboot, but this looks perfect to me. The original story is about a Black villain in a Black neighborhood, so Jordan Peel is fucking perfect for this. The trailer was a fucking work of art.
>Say my name say my name
Destiny's Child will never be the same.

HE NEEDS SOME MILK

Epic cringe

>The original story is about a Black villain in a Black neighborhood
you have clearly never read the original story. it's actually about a mentally handicapped boy getting castrated in a filthy toilet in london. candyman in the original story is a pasty white zombie with blue lips.

>capitalizing 'black'
do you prep the bull with your mouth too?

kek

fuck you

Is Tony Todd candyman because if not fuck off

barker had lots of stories no need to remake this one

>there will never be a movie based on the Clive Barkers Jericho videogame
On one hands it hurts on the other itd be a videogame movie so it'd probably be a monkeys paw.

nope. there is an entire hive of candypeople though. helen is one of them but played by a different actress for one short scene.

you know exactly why they're remaking this one

IMDB says yes.

>entire hive of candypeople
That sounds awful

he only has a brief cameo, tony todd has said so himself

I do, the point stands though

Good enough for me.

it's funny because barker's entire body of work is woke as fuck, even by current year standards. I mean, his novel imajica has a character (pie'oh'pah) who is genderfluid in the most literal sense of the word. in the hills, the cities starts with two guys fucking in a cornfield, sacrament has a gay main character, etc. etc.

I would like to see the one about the giants made of human bodies in the serbian mountains made into a movie

Almost like he is a homo himself, huh

then why does hollywood fall over itself to adapt every scarp written by the cishet stephen king but refuses to go near anything by barker that can't just be remade?

I'm not interested in a Candyman movie without her.

>anything by barker that can't just be remade?
>hellraiser series
>candyman
>night breed
>dread
>midnight meat train
>rawhead rex
he really didn't get such a bad deal compared to koontz, straub, landsdale and pretty much every other horror writer

Oh look Jordan faggot Peele is putting his name on yet another white man's work.

>The original story is about a Black villain in a Black neighborhood
The original story is actually about a meme that comes to life but because it was pre internet it comes from graffiti and chinese whispered urban myths.

>in london.
It's in Liverpool.
>In The Hills, The Cities
Based. For me it's The Great And Secret Show.

Beep Boop Beep Boooop

The same reason they remake the same shit and do tons of sequels, they would always rather bet on something with a track record than an unknown. it's about the almighty dollar to them.

Looks like a youtube fake trailer made by a mediocre film student. Also the trailer has ruined the entire film, so no need to watch that one.

Why don't we just wait here for a while? See what happens...

The original was all about class, not race, was set in a council estate.

Incidentally if anyone hasn't read Clive Barkers books of blood, I really recommend it. Really fucked up collection of shorts.

You missed Books of Blood (just the title story) and Lord of Illusions (which deserves more recognition). He's a great writer but after a while you get tired of descriptions of demons with huge boners. Plus The Scarlet Gospels was really really shit ("don't call him pinhead, that makes him really mad!").

There were whispers of Weaveworld getting a series but it never happened.

>you get tired of descriptions of demons with huge boners.
Impossible.

you misunderstood me. they are adapting everything king writes, even the new stuff that has never been filmed. with barker they're only willing to remake stuff that has already been filmed and is proven to work with some name recognition.

Perhaps it's a rights issue?

Jordan Peele is kind of a terrible writer, so my expectations are automatically low. There's no way he's going to live up to Clive Barker of all people.

>There were whispers of Weaveworld getting a series but it never happened.
for the CW, yes, and they "updated" it so that cal mooney is now an app programmer and the Fugue is now some hidden region in cyberspace that only he can hack into with his magical apps. the pilot script is online if you want to really rage.

that sounds almost as bad as king's lawnmower man turned into some 99% unrelated VR cyber bullshit

more likely they're scared shitless of barker's stuff and all the weird sex and body horror in it. king is much easier to adapt and sell to the normies, seeing how he's a turbo-normie himself and his books are always 97% mundane stuff with 3% supernatural shit. cheaper to film too, obviouisly.

Pretty sure The Hellbound Heart, or specifically the Cenobites' appearance, was inspired by his experiences in gay leather bars and all the violence was a tongue-in-cheek parody of the extreme fetishism of English fags or something.
