When you withdraw from alcohol your brain literally activities the "fight or flight" response. It releases hormones into your body which would only normally be released during grave danger. It makes you panic. And the worst thing is, there's no enemy to fight or run away from. All you can do is drink more.

>not tapering
NGMI

Once you reach a certain point tapering isn't an option

Why do people like you even post here? You realise this board is full of 16 year olds and you actually know what tapering is.

I’ve been here for 14 years and i’m not going to leave

It sucks, but so does most shit. I got lucky, I came down with the flu (not that flu) and I was so fucked up that I spent a full week unable to get out of bed. I went through the worst parts of withdrawal while feeling like shit anyway.

“addiction” literally doesn’t exist, people just have weak willpower to stop drinking or taking drugs

This. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram do not provide authentic entertainment like this

I'm the OP, 32 years old posting about my alcohol withdrawal with a söyface on a dead r*ddit board and even I think youre a fag
(Just kidding I love you)(I am pretty fucked up from booze though)

chemical addiction is a scientific fact

We’re all fags here.

no

It's really not. Addiction is just a label put on particular patterns of behaviour. You still have free will.

It's real, there are actual physical symptoms and withdrawal can kill you. At minimum it ain't fun, and people in pain frequently rationalize continued use despite quitting being the best thing for them.

Then explain why when someone who abuses alcohol suddenly stops, they experience hallucinations, cold sweats, insomnia, night terrors, delirium tremens, muscle spasms, etc. Some people even die. Or is that just made up by some sort of conspiracy?

well of course you CAN quit, anyone can quit, but many of them don't because the pain is too much for them to handle long enough to quit. That's what an addiction is--it's when stopping a negative behavior is more painful (short-term) than continuing it.

The word "addiction" isn't there to soften the blow, it's a term of shame in and of itself, it's just an accurate description of the condition.

>addiction is real because...uh...SCIENCE!

They're weak

JUST GET SOME BeNzOs

Because they are weak-willed pussies, which is how they got addicted in the first place.

I don't browse this board much but wtf does this have to do with Zig Forums???

>I don't browse this board much
It shows

Trying again lads. Wish it stuck the last time. I'm so miserable. I drive through my town and see the kids leaving school and I start crying. I need Jesus.

you can hallucinate on cacao

You're shifting the goalposts. Withdrawal and addiction are two different things.

I pissed the bed in a hotel room last night while blackout drunk. I don't even know what someone does in this situation. How much will it cost. Should I tell them?

One is caused by the other. Chemical dependency and psychological dependency are two different things, and yet you and other retards seem to not understand this

>should I tell them
No. And just deny deny deny if they say anything. They got no proof.

Quitting cigs/nicotine was easy. I was going through nearly a juul pod a day and quit cold turkey. Same with weed if that's even a thing. Quitting shitty food was a bit harder especially when you're lazy and don't want to cook, quitting jerking off is hardest and I still haven't accomplished it completely, just reduced it.

You pissed the fucking bed?
Why would you ever get in such a state that you revert to an infant? Even 4 year olds can use the toilet...

Don't tell them, they see worse than that all the time. Piss can be washed out of sheets, I doubt they'll charge you for it or anything. I stained the fuck out of the sheets in my room once after spilling powerade all over them, and I never got bothered about it.

niggers are inferior

Why are white people like this?

>chemical addiction is a scientific fact

Attached: 22f.png (640x591, 18.19K)

Is this /fa/ approved?

I'm sure people that die from alcohol withdrawals were just pussies lol

You have my sympathy OP.
When a drug takes you it takes you bad.
Its not only the psychological dependence but the burning hunger for the drug that screams from your every cell.

The only advice I can give is never stop trying to give up. Whatever and whichever way you can find to stop, stop. Easier said than done of course, but keep hope alive and keep on trying!

Godspeed.

>One is caused by the other

And....? Yes, consuming retarded amounts of alcohol will eventual take you to a point where you may experience alcohol withdrawal. This does not mean there is such a thing as 'addiction' beyond it being a word to describe repetitive retarded behaviour.

>Chemical dependency and psychological dependency are two different things, and yet you and other retards seem to not understand this

We aren't the ones trying to weasel the semi-legitimacy of one in such a way as to invent a whole new illness. Most alcoholics don't continue drinking because they're scared of withdrawal. Likewise with other drugs. What's your enlightened take on shopping addiction or porn addiction or gaming addiction? Is anyone addicted to sitting in an empty room doing nothing for hours on end? I would assume not - people are only addicted to pleasurable things, it seems. Might give some weight to the idea that they do these things because they find them fun and don't care for the consequences, retard.

Vivitrol shots, you take them once a month and not only does it curb cravings but if you drink alcohol instead of feeling good you get sick

i started getting withdrawals from drinking to much and it was fucking shit, after i started cutting back they went away so im glad

woah, it's almost like enjoying a chemical can lead you to abuse it, which creates a dependency. You mean people don't get addicted to things they hate? You're so smart

the existence of withdrawal symptoms doesn’t at all prove the existence of “addiction”

Yeah bro, life is like a movie and people can drop the booze in one scene, addicts are just pussies.

>doing things you like eradicates free will!

people constantly quit drinking and doing drugs all the time because they actually have the will power to do it

What do you guys think about AA? Helpful, or a sort of cult?

Whomst are thee quoteth?

literally full of niggers and faggots, it only turns you into a homosexual

A genome-wide association study of more than 100,000 human individuals identified variants of the gene KLB, which encodes the transmembrane protein β-Klotho, as highly associated with alcohol consumption. The protein β-Klotho is an essential element in cell surface receptors for hormones involved in modulation of appetites for simple sugars and alcohol.

AA blows, and almost everyone at those meetings look miserable and just sit around talking about drinking, which only makes me want to drink. Best option is MAT (Medication Assisted Therapy)
