None of the characters behave in an unbelievable way. The corporate willingness to sweep it all under the rug for profits.

The supportive partner who becomes more and more concerned with what they've done, but far too late to act.

The female lead who made all the parenting mistakes her own mother did.

The creature itself was very interesting.

Solid performances by all the cast and genuinely creepy at times.

It's never really scary, but it's not trying to be. I can't help but think if it was made today it'd be packed with jump scares and be ruined.
