Now that the dust has settled, was 1972 a good year for cinema?
Now that the dust has settled, was 1972 a good year for cinema?
Yes.
I'm considering saying yes, but it still wasn't as good as any year from the 2010s. Sure the Godfather's great, but the rest only register a "huh?" from me.
Not much to say then, other than you've got atrocious taste and you're most likely a simpleton.
best years in cinema are 1939, 1960 and 1995
only 2 good films in the pic
Never been a fan of that era honestly, of course The Godfather and Deliverance are classics but the experimental stuff made by boomers tripping on acid never reached me
I also have a general disdain for New Hollywood, a bunch of bearded "auteurs" making meandering ad lib shit and critics of the time were licking their assholes just because they were sick of standard Hollywood fare. Honestly I'll take any of those forgettable 50s musicals or beach party movies over most of the "masterpieces" of the New Hollywood Era
Based, fuck liberals
I said ad lib shit, not lib shit you retard. Though I agree, liberals are fucking retarded.
You're either a contrarian that thinks movies as recent as 1972 are pedestrian, or you're a pleb that won't watch anything before 1980. Either way, your IQ is undoubtedly below 130.
Holy shit what a pleb, these are all film school movies.
No
I don’t fully share that sentiment but yes, New Hollywood is completely overrated.
Very based near quads
>Pink Flamingo
Solaris > Roma > Cries and Whispers > Aguirre > Cabaret > Godfather > Deliverance > Bourgeoisie > Frenzy > Sisters > Tango >>>>>>> Pink Flamingos

Werner Herzog was friends with John Waters for years and he only recently found out he was gay
colossal noncejak
Cabaret v Babylon Berlin
Help me, lads
I know nothing about either but the Cabaret poster is really hot so I'm gonna pick that one
Solaris is among the worst on the chart.
Why do zoomers like fat thighs so much? Everyone will be obese one day because of you wiggers.
Was it autism?
Fag
You're a fag. This is the ideal female body.
I prefer this
The best year in the history of cinema is 1987.
>1995
>1987
Not funny.
Terrible year. For reference, these were the major category (directing, acting, and writing) Oscar winners of 1987. They all legitimately suck ass.
This is my favorite from '72.
