I still like some of the older episodes despite the fan base but I tried watching this one and just had to turn it off. It had parts of what made the good episodes but it just got too full of itself.

It's great that they keep up their bad writing habits and create zero stakes because Rick is so fucking overpowered

Between that line and the end of the train episode they seem to be doing a weird thing where they're intentionally trying to be LESS offensive to Christians. I'm not saying it's a Christian show in the least, I'm just saying they consciously shit on Christianity harder in the past and are now throwing christfags half a bone, it's sort of weird to behold.

I don't get what the point of making fun of pagan gods would accomplish, its not like there are any actual believers out there than aren't just thinking "I believe in Odin because it's cool".

It's meant to be balanced because Roiland understands how balance works. That's why he attacks all groups, while Harmon only attacks groups he doesn't like.

I think Rick could conceivably fight Zeus in the earlier seasons but he would need prep time to make things that specifically counter him. That would be an entire adventure in itself where he goes with Morty to get materials needed to defeat Zeus.
