Opinions on Ken Burns and his documentaries?
I saw The Civil War, The West and Prohibition and they all were kino as fuck.
Are the Jazz docu worth watching if I had never listened to Jazz?

This my nigga, Baseball.
yeah, if you're American Jazz is a rich part of your history. Unless your racist then it might be scary to hear about how influential Black music was to your culture.
>Unless your racist
then watch country
That talks highly of black people too
ya but less screen time
He’s a fucking weirdo bohemian grove member.
>Country Music
>Hey racists, without niggers you wouldn't have county music, suck on that for 8 hours!
watch vietnam if you wanna see boomers and old gooks tell fucked up stories for 10 hours
The Prohibition one is pretty good.
OP here, Im european
Empire of the Air and The Gene are good too.
Came here to say this.
country fan here. It's 100% true.
I know if breaks your narrative that blacks aren't people. Sucks to suck
I watched a couple episodes.
They were rife with poor information and extreme leftist bias. Basically unwatchable and shouldnt have been well regarded or praised.
The only reason they garnered praise in spite of being mortally flawed historically, philisophically, morally, and factually because it is leftist propaganda.
Should be rated by lies per minute desu.
he could just tell the story with being a prick about is all I'm saying.
also those fucking stringed gourds that came from Africa have basically zero to do with the modern banjo.
Technology made music what it is. Blacks had nothing to do with it.
Of course historical revisionists struggling to find an african american contribution to the united states came up with music which is on the same intellectual level of not shitting yourself.
Seriously 12 year olds can sing. Its not a rare talent or particularly important which is why they pick random kids to be “stars”.
Its the civilization equivilent of being like, “but they bathed 3 times a year.”
Im sure there will be a Ken Burns Documentary about how blacks litterally created music in the next few years so libtards can pat themselves on their backs while genociding their own children.
Bravo.
Jazz is a good documentary for covering the early stuff, but it's not comprehensive about the music at all.
Educate yourself you degenerate
I think you may be confusing him with Adam Curtis.
His Jazz docu was literally 75% of my Jazz appreciation class in college. We'd just watch an hour of that and then a little bit of lecture.
you can't really be a person that's existed more than three days.
absolutely this.
Its obvious revisionism.
Music is like “midern high art”. It has nothing to do with talent and is the modern equivilent of racial laundering to insert blacks into the societal lexicon.
His Vietnam documentary was a joke too. “They was burning the villagers alive they wuz!!!”
Like holy shit who funds this detritus?
And the west..... “muh magical spirtitual native!!! Muh noble savge!!!!! Muh ebil white man!!!!!!”
If america had any course de rigor left ken burns would be a homeless mendicant begging for food.
Instead they made his idiotic childish viewpoints and one sided propaganda into cultural touchstones. What a time to be alive.
I think communism was more honest.
this and Vietnam
but really, who was in the wrong here?
This post made me watch The Civil War and it's a great series
jazz is great but the best episodes are the middle chunks when everybody was hooked on heroin
>thinks music history is defined by what is popular
what's up with his hair
Is Drake the greatest jazz musician of our time?
its a shame you got banned from reddit
