and rottentomatoes boards are gone too right?

it was useful to see if the ratings were fake based on the tone of the message board

>watch random obscure movie
>want to talk about it or just read some comments/thoughts
>curious about some bullshit trivia about some C-Lister
>IMDB was always there
>mfw
Fuck them for taking it away from us.

Those feels

Why did they remove it?

They were fucking awesome back when it was still called The Sci Fi Channel and SciFridays had the Stargate/BSG lineup. Also the Lost board was proto-reddit.

Goys shouldnt have genuine interaction, the site should be a soulless safe space of corporate design, all else must be removed

Like every site that became popular, the comments/forums undermines your ability to monetize.

Hard to sell advertising or shill services when you're getting BTFO by anonymous posters in the comments. Who's going to pay to promote favorable reviews when the sites users can rip them to bits line by line.

Found some actress’s nudes there.

I’d be interested to know what their traffic is like now compared to then, because the message boards were the only reason for visiting IMO

Haven't been to IMBD since, and I haven't really watched movies at all last year, since something got fucked with my torrent program and makes me crash, so I just lost interest. Don't see the point of reinstalling everything just to watch movies by myself with no one to discuss them with.

Letting people discuss things means that you don't control the narrative.

Pretty sure a clone of the boards exist on some other site, but I don't know the name of that site. That said, it's stupid IMDB removed the boards in the first place.

It's moviechat.org but no one uses it.

Does anyone remember the Dark Knight and the Harry Potter boards just being off topic constantly?

Game of thrones, walking dead were like that. Breaking bad was epic, 24 hours a day of breakfast threads

SciFridays with that line up were good times

Lost was always off topic right till the end

>brave
these people disgust me

So brave

They were 99% full of paid shills or just moronic garbage, but I will never forget the few times I'd look up an obscure film that wasn't released on DVD etc and some helpful person had posted that it was on TV next Wednesday for the first time in 30 years, etc.

Very brave

Did you record the films?

This makes sense. Now the website is filled to the brim with ads. Fuck IMDB for ruining what was once the premier destination for film discussion on the web.

>finish film
>go to the imdb page to see what people are talking about

Kino
