There wasn't a single likable character in Midsommar
No growth, no clear motivations, nothing

This movie was so shit. Knew what was happening in the first 10 minutes

I watched the Wicker Man right after this and liked it a lot more. Don't think Midsommar was shit though, was alright. That one night scene confused me though, it wouldn't get that dark during that time of year.

Did you need your heckin expectations to be subverted for it to be a good movie?

He clearly died because he was a bad boyfriend. Even though he felt bad for his girlfriend and thought staying with her was the right thing to do a real man would have dropped her. This movie was clearly written for women but there is a solid lesson for men to not be waffling pussies. Also the only people I know who liked this were women.

It's funny how he can be burned alive for being a "bad boyfriend" because he was raped on drugs. Women are idiots.

It isn't about dropping her, it's that a real man would've committed one way or the other. He stayed but it was a limp-wristed stay; he was emotionally distant the whole time and not at all reachable. He should've left or stayed and actually been a boyfriend.

With that said, everyone in the movie was a complete faggot.

If not sister backstory and unnecessary gore this is hardly horror film. I actually laughed when he ended mate ritual and found that dude with chickens..
