Towards the end Modern Family had maybe two or three really really great episodes a season and nineteen tepid ones. They still won Emmy awards because you just submit the episodes you want they don't take the series as a whole.
It was kind of amazing really.

first season is pretty good. no idea what happened after that, felt like the people who wrote it died and were replaced by complete hacks.

It's an okay show.
Ed O'Neill and Ty Burrell are worth watching.

First 2-3 seasons were genuinely very good and believe it or not pretty self aware. It started sucking when it basically turned into a parody of itself in later seasons

It's completely inoffensive and "woke" in ways that don't actually break any ground or push boundaries, perfect for hitting a wide swatch of braindead viewers.

Because it was funny. Standard sitcom humor, but a step above CBS shit like TBBT and Two and a Half Men.
