I understand though. Before watching it I'd assumed that is was some shitty 'gamer' film about tons of 'epic' pop culture references that you're supposed to laud over. But the actual film is far more clever than that and does way more than you'd expect.

and the comic is more clever than the movie. It's fairly accurate to the comic for the most part but the end of the movie is lackluster and rushed because it came out before the final volume did, which was a really bad choice. We're missing a significant part of Scott's and Ramona's character development and somehow a dumb final boss fight resolves everything including Knives' relationship with Scott.

also they didn't include Knives' father which I'll never not be salty about even if I understand why
