>Veteran Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies director Chuck Jones was critical of the film. In a 1998 interview, he expressed his views that the film was "terrible" and said, as a man who worked with the characters for almost thirty years, the story was deeply flawed. "I can tell you, with the utmost confidence," he said, "Porky Pig would never say 'I think I wet myself.'" Jones also added that, had the film been more true to the source material, Bugs Bunny would not have enlisted the help of Jordan or the other Looney Tunes characters to defeat the Monstars "and moreover, it wouldn't have taken him an hour and a half. Those aliens, whether they were tiny or colossal, would've been dealt with in short order come the seven minute mark."

I want a doc about the making of this movie, especially it's development and preproduction. It's such a weird movie

This movie came out during a time when concepts of the least likely things coming together (A basketball player and a cartoon) weren't as popular (not counting Who Framed Roger Rabbit).

it's not very good

As did I. As a kid it was my favorite movie of that year.

Critics hate fart jokes and slapstick humor, Shrek was also panned.

based chuck

Chuck is full of shit. Bugs being an omnipotent Gary Stu is a revision of later writing. Characters would get the better of him from time to time in his earliest appearances.

It would have taken 90 minutes in something directed by Jones if he'd been contracted to make something that long

CMON N SLAM

One of my fondest childhood memories, the scene when Yosemite Sam shoots someone who tries to touch that sexy bunny, made me choke on popcorn

Chuck is right. Falling Hare is just a Droopy Dog cartoon, bad example.

Even as a kid I thought this movie was lame

Black people loved both Michael Jordan and Looney tunes in the 90s

Release the John's cut.

i am not a american nigger worshipper but i never saw a problem with this movie

b-bugs is powerful

Ebert gave it a thumbs up IIRC

Because critics are soulless cocksuckers from single parent households.

It should have been about the Looney Tunes vs Michael Jordan and his basketball team. The whole alien shit was unoriginal and not funny. In fact the whole movie is completely forgettable until the game starts and even then it's weak. Plus the animation is somehow worse than the shorts from the 40s, even with the huge budget and product placement.

Literally the definition of soulless.

This

Because it was unfunny and soulless.

MJ is a known douche

how the hell is this even a rabbit

They hate fun

Yeah but it wasn’t as widely known back when Space Jam came out. I think people only learned how much of an asshole he is after he retired.
