ITT: Point out one thing you didn't like about your favorite show
For me I find it odd how these uneducated mobsters occasionally use high level vocabulary and reference intellectual media. Yes it makes the dialogue much more entertaining, but it can be jarring at times too.
i didn't like when sneed bought the suck and fuck store
Nathaniel Rogers
What? Whenever they tried to speak smart, they mispronounced shit or got the meaning of what they were saying completely wrong. Paulie, Christopher, and Carmine were the biggest examples of this. Then you have that scene with Bobby getting Quasimodo and Nostradamus mixed up
Angel Johnson
The only true intellectual was Vito, his intellect was on another level as evidenced by his high brow, absurdist sense of humor. His satirical performance as a fag was nothing short of his masterpiece, I fell over in pure delight overwhelmed my tummy chuckles various times when he "lived" with his "boyfriend" Johnny Cakes.
Ryan Brooks
Agreed. Not sure what this person is on about. Why is it out of the realm of possibility that these guys simply do have "some" knowledge and know some "big" words after living for 40+ years.
Daniel Powell
he was the Marcel Duchamp of italian americans
Blake Price
Season 5 was redundant, they should have ended it a season earlier. Every season is "hey look, somebody from tony's past that doesn't respect his role as the boss now" and then Tony kills them them. Also, Vito season 6 is the worst the show ever got. He goes to a small town and falls for a mustached firefighter who makes him "Johnny cakes" for breakfast at a diner he also works at. What shit writing. And maybe the only time they use voice over in the whole show when he's looking at his watch while working.
Bentley Foster
>Every season is "hey look, somebody from tony's past that doesn't respect his role as the boss now" and then Tony kills them them I really don't get why they abandoned the psychiatry plot for this repetitive shit. the show really went downhill after season 2, they also killed off the mother way too soon
Benjamin Ross
The Wire built The Greeks up a ton in Season 2 and then pretty much disappeared them for two seasons until they were finally brought back in 5. Season 5 needed more time talking about the bullshit that is newspapers/the media
Colton Jackson
i havent watched the sopranos or the wire, are they part of the hbo cinematic universe?
John Long
>they also killed off the mother way too soon because she literally died in real life
Lincoln Watson
There's a whole compilation on yt about all their malapropisms
Adam White
so what? the actress may have passed, but who's to say that there isn't another actress just like her.... or will be?
William Ward
Every time they ripped off the Colombians(2 times), the Colombians never retaliated. In real life Roy demeo killed some Latino drug dealers and Latino drug dealers were hunting Roy. Roy was so paranoid he killed innocent 2 innocent Latinos because he thought they were after him.
>livia / kids / wife does childish shitty thing >tony responds with anger, contempt, or detachment >"anthony your mom bad, you have to confront this" >repeat for first 2 and a half seasons
Melfi was also the most uninteresting and one dimensional main character who's arc peaked with the rape. It would have been way more interesting if she actually did get Tony to take care of the rapist because it would show how some of Tony's actions are justified in the shitty modern world.
Honestly the thing I hated the most about it was that the kids weren't actually treated as characters with actual arcs, but instead as just annoyances that caused conflict in Tony and Carmella's storylines
Tony doesnt know who truman is yet knows who agustus is.
Jaxon Adams
It's kind of true to life. Ever since the Godfather, there has been an effort in the sicilian and italo-american mafias to live up to the "sophisticated mobster" stereotype.
James Turner
The outfits for the female characters should have been skimpier
one of the major points of the show is that they thought they were living in the godfather when in reality they were jersey trash
Daniel Garcia
I didn't like the fridge episode of Bebop
Oliver Perez
except they both had development, just more subdued. meadow goes from wanting to completely distance herself from the family to saying she wants to work as an attorney for mobsters and ends up dating one. AJ doesnt have much of an arc, but i think thats the point. hes going nowhere in his life without his parents.
Brody Lewis
thats because you think only college ''educated'' people are actually educated. you can read books on your own you fucking retard, you dont need to pay an institution to force you to do so
Adam Jenkins
this. real life mobster aren't comic book "durrrr ok boss" goons. OP is the real retard
Sebastian Davis
But Tone read Sun Tuhzoo
Joseph Long
Bullshit.
Adam Jackson
He had half a one coming out of his face, wasn't that enough?
Jeremiah Smith
damn, OP outed himself
Joshua Ramirez
No. He's a fuck up through and through that never stops being a annoying arrogant prick >risks the whole crew by spilling shit about the life simply to schmooze with B list celebrities and jerk off his ego of "being an actor" >bitches that he's not given more responsibility and not being made will literally being a smack addict >gets clean and is finally given more responsibility only to then bitch that he has to play the game of picking up the bill and kicking up to the higher guys >shirks responsibilities again trying to circle jerk himself into the movie business as well as not leading his crew because he's never around due to the triggering of his addiction
This is how his character should have been handled: >Adrianna's arc should have happened in season 3 with the culmination being exactly rhe same for her, but Chris ODing as a result of her death and then going to rehab >Season 4 and 5 happens, but Christopher ends up going above and beyond becoming the family's best earner, most reliable captain, and completely pulling a 180 leading Tony be optimistic for the future of the family >Christopher gets killed by Phil at the end of 5 as revenge and devastating Tony and leads him to actually start looking at the life and if all of it is worth it.
>not having Tony kill Christopher >changing the string of episodes delving into Tony's psychology to a lame revenge plot This is the most plebian post I've ever read on this site.
