shes smiling, so yes.

She got indoctrinated into a bloodthirsty cult. How is that even a question?

sweden yes

She's smiling, why wouldn't it be happy?

Posted in the other thread but People act like it's a happy ending or something because she smiles at the end yet
>Her family is still dead
>Her boyfriend is dead at her own hands
>She's now perminantly trapped in a cult
>Her grief still hasn't gone away

I see people online say that she finally has people to grieve with and THATS why it's a happy ending, but that's not true at all. If you actually watch the ending it's clear that while she is sobbing genuine tears of losing her loved ones and realizing she's trapped forever, the people around her just mimick as if they are putting on a show. They dont feel loss for her parents, or anybody in the teepee. It's actually the most grim scene in the movie if I'm going to be honest

how is this so good bros youtu.be/fd014sIrTgM

Seeing her disgusting grimace on all promotional material for this film made me really want to see her beheaded. Waste of a film. Fuck Midsommar.

no

Is that inherently bad?

Yes because it condemns you to a special place in hell for apostasy, paganism, and murder

As opposed to everyone around her treating her like she's a burden and wincing when she tries to talk about how she feels

go back

Not inherently, but thinking a violent, controlling cult is good is obviously a minority opinion.

She finally has a family

The fact that you even have to explain it to people.

And blacks join gangs because they don't have fathers. Still sad.

I don't think you can ever recover from your sister killing herself and taking your parents with her

Bruh, white peepo be MAD scary dawg.

>Her boyfriend's shitty buddies were aloof so it's actually GOOD that she's indoctrinated into a cult that kills and knowingly manipulates people!

No she doesn't

no... the scene with them mimicking her hysteria is about the women of the village all sharing their grief collectively. They aren't mocking her, they're validating her feelings in a way none of her "friends" have ever done. It's a bittersweet ending because yeah she's in a wild swedish cult, but she's also found the family support unit she's been searching for her entire life.

no

They are absolutely not sharing her grief. They might think they are, but they aren't. I'm not saying they are mocking her with malace, but they don't truly understand her grief even if they pretend they do.

redirecting to your original retarded post doesn't make it correct

okay, but you're still wrong though, I don't know how else to say it

how on earth could they be sharing in her grief if they dont even know why she is upset?

I'd love if you had at least a little bit of support for your argument.

How could anybody in the community POSSIBLY understand her grief? I doubt they even know why she's crying.

The film was pretentious crap and extremely predictable. And the scenes that were supposed to be disturbing were stupid and contrived. Like when the bf realizes everything is fucked and hes running around naked outside and he sees one of his friends upside down in a garden with just their feet sticking out of the ground. That was simply to be a scene of "whoa so shocking and weird." Why on earth did the village people put the person in the garden like a vegetable? It was just the director looking for something weird to put in the scene.

It was just terrible. I do not understand why this movie was made. It was a generic people accidentally stumble upon a weird death cult.

I thought it was pretty clearly implying that they were using parts of his body as compost, and reinforcing how lightly the community takes death, which was teased during the cliff scene but handwaved to the characters with "don't worry about it, it's tradition"
Same goes for the other body being used to feed chickens

>extremely predictable
>accidentally stumble upon
Watch it again. You missed some major stuff.

am I the only one that actually smirked when they skinned the black guy?

She got a cute lil booty patootie

if it was for compost, it would be completely in the dirt, not partially. It was obviously just a "whoa so shocking and weird"

I get that they went there on purpose, but they did not know that the village was as crazy as it turned out

No. The first guy was actually right and you are very wrong. Grief is a powerful emotion and the cult was sidestepping actual human empathy with a reaction to it. The whole point in my eyes was to show how empty seeking support for supports sake is compared to genuinely confronting your misery and becoming a better person.
