the biggest glaring problem is really the retroactive granting of respect and power to satan by god that occurred after Job. It's one thing to pick up in the middle of the story and say ok satan is a powerful almost godlike entity with free rein. It's another to interpret genesis in a way that the snake is actually great satan, and he's being permitted by god to deceive humanity in the first place. Not as a disobedient servant, but unchecked and unpunished.
