Anyone else find it crazy how people always talk about Zombie Simpsons and post-cancelation Family Guy, but never about how South Park turned to dogshit after season 3?

The first three seasons are incredibly good with funny plots, great voice acting and writing. After season 4, or whenever they changed Cartman's voice actor, it became literally Family Guy tier only relying on gore and shock value.

All the jokes are the same in nu-south park and all the plots are just Moe-gets-cellphone-tier
>OMG Stan's dad bought an electric car? N'oh my gahd. *le funny dramatic music
>Cartman buy Guitar Hero xD
>preachy episodes about politics

How is this not talked about more? South Park fucking sucks except for the absolute early days.

I agree. First few seaosns are funny when they still behaved like annoying children, especially Cartman (whose voice actor didn't change, just Trey's ability to voice him like that).

Anything after the early seasons is drama tier self-aware meme shitfest news of the week garbage.

It actually turned good after season 3 and then back into shit after season 10 and it's pretty well accepted standpoint but no one cares enough about South Park to talk about it.

It's good until like season 9. The episode when Jimmy joins the Crips or Token convinces rich people to move to South Park aren't topical nor are they episodes when everyone overreacts to something inane like electric scooters while dramatic music plays

The general cutoff opinions seem to fall into 3 categories
>Season 4
>Season 11
>PC Principle season
I'm a Season 11 man myself. That's where it got noticably trash, before it was still pretty funny.

I don't understand how people can find that shit funny
>TIMMEHH xD
>evil Santa Clause?! Holy crap :D
>Cartman buys Wii
>evil Micky Mouse LOL

it's just so fucking shit, and the early seasons are so good. how did this happen

I blame the shift towards topical humour for the decline, personally.
Storylines weren't funny anymore. They were just ripping headlines and doing some shitty social commentary that wasn't really saying anything for the most part.

I think the show was consistently pretty great until season 11. 11 has a lot of bad episodes but 12 is when it truly became irredeemable shit.

The evil Mickey Mouse is extremely unfunny but he isn't in the show until season 13. The rest of your criticisms are stupid.

The first few seasons of South Park sucked, it peaked around season 8 and has been declining since.

southpol episodes are the worst, except for margaritaville that was one of my favorites, if its even considered political

>>evil Micky Mouse LOL
His one (1) appearance in the purity ring episode was kind of funny.

The first 4 or so seasons were great, but even back then they did rely on politics or shock humor for a lot of things, like the Cartman's Mom episodes having casual cannibalism or Trapper Keeper's B-Plot being a direct parody of the 2000 election. Whiel there's an obvious shift after S4, there were still a lot of good episodes that had plots that weren't watchable just for the parody/shocks or were virtually free of either (S9's Losing Edge is a great example).

So it's a case of people being eased into the worse seasons, and those seasons not really being outright terrible for the most part. I definitely prefer the original spirit of the S1-S4, but S5+ is pretty watchable. The real cut off is S15. Like sure, the previous seasons are littered with episodes like Stupid Spoiled Whore Playset, Britney's New Look, D-Yikes, Garrison's Fancy New Vagina, and so on, but S15 kicks off with Human Cent-iPad and keeps it there from then on.

it never was that famous to make people that angry

The show began to jump the shark in S5. 9/11 screwed the series

The worst episode is the garrison 300 spartans one

>evil Micky Mouse LOL
Drawn Together did it better

No one cares about South Park anymore since the creators jumped the shark hard with drumpf

Nah, was still good up until around 2007.

>Oh no it's Mickey *bleep*
>I knew it was you *bleep* Mouse

There's a few key ingredients that make earlier seasons much better.
1 - The main characters are consistently Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny
2 - They have more common sense than the rest of the town but lack experience to use it
3 - Randy is just Stan's Dad, and is usually one of the more normal of the adults.
4 - artsyle and animation is deliberately shit, after some point in the show, characters start to appear that just look more human, and less like shapes cut out from paper.

Almost forgot:

Cartman was for the first few seasons, just a fat asshole, he wasn't some super villain who could do whatever evil thing the plot needed from him.

>or whenever they changed Cartman's voice actor

Nigger you're fucking dumb

They straight up stopped putting jokes in the scripts after season 10.
Like they want you to be like "haha a weird and unusual situation that is funny by itself".
The first 4 seasons are definitely the best, the 6 seasons after it are watchable at best, and then after that it's just fucking unbearable.

The problem at that point was that they do put jokes in the episodes but exactly one joke per episode and it's repeated for 20 minutes.

>whenever they changed Cartman's voice actor
This is such shit bait, sad how many retards fell for it and even agreed

>but exactly one joke per episode and it's repeated for 20 minutes.

Now it's one joke per season.

i unironically didn't know trey used to voice him lol he sounds so different. it's not bait, i just didnt know

Two pair of truth. Ginger Cow is one of my favorite newer episodes because it's just the kids doing dumb kid things without any news stories attached.

>great voice acting
Stopped reading there. I shouldn’t have even clicked given your reddit spacing.

South Park was kino for at least 7 or 8 seasons. Practically every episode was golden.
It started going downhill around seasons 9-11, but was still quite enjoyable. Most of the episodes in those seasons were good but there was more than one "THAT EPISODE" in it.
Season 12 and on started having barely 2-3 good episodes per season, and by season 15-16, the show was all but unwatchable. The show truly went full undead zombie putrefaction when PC Principal came onto the scene, it was totally irrecoverable from that point on.
Ironically, the two video games Stick of Truth and the Fractured But Whole really brought things back to form, and are easily some of the best South Park works since the first 8 seasons.
