Sion sono

are any of these good

I've seen about two thirds of these and loved all of them, so I'm going to guess they're probably all good. His stuff is def very odd though; I saw Suicide Club back when it was new and immediately fell in love with the guy, so I'd recommend that as your starting point. Most people, including many, many anons here fucking LOVE Love Exposure, but it's 4 hours long, so I don't think it's necessarily a good first film from him for most.

Yes. Tokyo Tribe is unironically one of my favorite movies of all time. Based Riki Takeuchi

love exposure is amazing
others are fine, coldfish and why don't you play in hell being personal favorites
haven't seen antiporo, forest of love, and tokyo tribe

>but it's 4 hours long
those 4 hours just fly by. it's one of the most enjoyable movies I've seen

He makes live action anime. Some of it is complete garbage full of Jap cliches and retarded Jap acting and some of it is good. Love Exposure is the best because he balances the retardation with soul.

saw 'why don't you play in hell'. it was okay-ish (won't go in my offline drive). digital gore effects wete atrocious. but i was intrigued by the film-making style and edgy humor. sophisticated jap uwe boll

SOMEONE GIVE ME 'TOKYO TRIBE' IN x265

If it helps, I think it's still streaming free on Amazon Prime

Sion Sono is kino incarnate.

All of them except Himizu(read the manga), Noriko's Dinner Table(mediocre) and Tokyo Tribe(you might still enjoy it)

Only Love Exposure. Has anyone been able to rip the korean version that's formatted as a TV show? Or is that a myth?

I'd say all of them are good but that's because I'm biased. The consensus is that Love Exposure is Sono's best work and I would agree that it's his masterpiece. but all of them are great in slightly different ways. Personally I think this guy is one of the GOATS because he literally doesn't give a fuck and just adds whatever perverted, fucked up shit he wants to his films, censorship laws almost completely disregarded. And becaue of that attitude he's gone on to create some hilarious and fascinating works. Most of the time it's the complete absurdism and senseless violence and sex in his movies that draw me in more than the plot. At this point I'll watch anything this dude makes. He finally tried his hand at directing an English speaking cast and his next film "Prisoners of the Ghostland" will be released sometime next year, starring Nicolas Cage and Sofia Boutella. Fuck knows how that'll turn out but it sounds hilarious.

For me it's been really inconsistent. Love Exposure is one of my favourite films of all time. I also really liked Why Don't You Play in Hell. Coldfish was pretty good. And I didn't like Antiporno and Suicide Club. But all of his films have been interesting for sure, some in more shallow ways than others.

Forest of Love is his best film followed by Love Exposure. Coldfish is okay, Noriko's Dinner Table is kinda boring. Haven't seen the rest yet.

>film
Watch the Deep Cut, bro.

Love Exposure and Coldfish are pretty dang good, Tag is pretty fun too. I thought Himizu was just ok. Antiporno and Why Don't You Play In Hell are total shit. Still gotta watch the others.

Why don't you play in hell is great

I turned off Love Exposure halfway through and never looked back. If I wanted a mean-spirited hentai from the diary of a raped Naruto fanboy, I'd pick something much shorter.

retard

ok kubrickfag

>kino
love exosure
suicide club
coldfish
strange cirucs
noriko's dinner table
why dont you play in hell

didn't see the others

Actualy also watched forest of love, was great

All of them. But personally, I love 'Love Exposure' the most.

Never seen any of them but the best slant film ever made is pic related

yeah sure bro because someone who's seen contemporary arthouse kino like sion sono does has never heard about one armed swordsman or any of the other old samurai flicks

god you boomers are pathetic, get with the times already

i've only seen love exposure, suicide club, & TAG - all three are completely bonkers. sono definitely has a style and i'm not sure if you can call it GOOD but it's a lot of fun to watch.

Is the longer, tv series cut of love exposure any good?

That series he made for amazon, Tokyo Vampire Hotel, was really good.
