When my 60 year old mom watches a movie (maybe once a year or two), all she ever wants to see is kids's shit; she "wants to turn her brain off" and watch something "cute."

My grandmother (73 when she died) was a patrician by women standards though. Star Wars OT, Lord of the Rings, classic Spielberg, etc. were her favorites, but she appreciated a lot of darker stuff too - one of the last films I saw with her was Fincher's Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She loved Harry Potter and Twilight too, the latter being particularly funny because she had an autistic obsession with Robert Pattinson. She'd show me his weird pre-Twilight British indie movies and upon her death we found a diary entry about how handsome and attractive she thought he was. We got her a cardboard cutout of him for her birthday and it's currently in my basement; she'd be proud of where he is now.
