This guy really dissected the internet movie reviewers' lack of understanding about film history and film techniques. Most of these YouTube critics only have a frame of reference that goes back to Star Wars and modern blockbusters that were made from 1980-2005ish.

i only watched the first 15 or so minutes of this video, but i feel that its criticism isn't valid at all.
the guy talking is right that there is a second-layer language of referencing other movies there that chris stuckman doesn't understand. what he doesn't seem to grasp though is that that in and of itself is not good filmmaking. he presents lucas' work as a patchwork of directly stolen scenes, then doesn't address how lazy that "style" is.
it all seems to boil down to

It's okay to dislike something, user. Your opinion tells me that you treat movies as nothing more than cheap entertainment that requires no cerebral activity. It tells me enough about the stuff you could watch, and what movies you have never seen in your entire life. But Lucas is actually a filmmaker, not a clown. His job is not to exclusively entertain you. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and yours is perfectly valid: "I think they are boring". But some people say unironiclally that "X is *objectively* shit" and they think they are right(i.e. Plinkett, Cuckmann, etc), when the truth is that they have no basic cultural literacy, and they were never interested in the art of filmmaking to begin with, otherwise they would never said such nonsense to begin with. That is all.
