I am shocked how much I have enjoyed the show. Shit is going down now after latest episode.
The music in this show is supposed to be hip and trendy but it's several years old and out of play by this point.
Kate Mara is incredibly sexy in a girl next door kind of way though.
I can't believe that twink got to fake-bang Kate Mara.
I can't believe she is 37, she really portrays the subtle sexiness of teacher so well. Her father was addicted to alcohol and her character seems to have this power/sex addiction.
I would literally pay whatever salary he made to make this show, just for the chance to film the same scenes he got to with Kate Mara.
It takes place a few years ago
Yeah i think it is 2013
>Kate looks too young
>twink looks too old
>Kate isn't dominant enough in the show
Wasted potential.
if this was the other way around we wouldn't even have a Tv show.
it would be disgusting to some people.
>twink looks too old
fucking this, I want her seducing a fucking middle-school looking guy, now that's the rarest of fap material!
They released a video today talking about male victimhood. youtube.com
Exactly. Then Kate's young looks wouldn't be an issue. Sure, Kate is a 10/10, but I'd rather watch a 8/10 fulfilling the series premise instead of just two adults hanging out and fucking occasionally.
Honestly I want to be Kate Mara's victim. That scene in the car at 2:10 where she says she really wants to fuck him and that look she gives him just makes me feel something.
You could really feel the desperation in their last sex scene and how fucked they both knew they were. Poor Eric has his hormones raging and no idea what to do in the situation. The actors are so good.
I would also recommend pic related.
I just want a petite girl like Kate Mara with her sexy voice.
>I would also recommend pic related.
So maybe say what the title is?
Why can't there just be a happy ending for once? Why does it always have to devolve into it becoming a negative thing? Why do they have to destroy them both?
The show is portraying the problem of the power dynamic. Claire clearly has some issues stemming from her mother dying and dad becoming an alcoholic and you could see her self destructing in the poor decisions she was making. Poor Eric is too young to fully understand what is going on and why it is wrong to be with someone older in a position of power like that and the effects it can have on their family and friends.
I think the next few episodes will get pretty dark for Claire and Eric (the victimhood fx video shows Claire will be arrested and register as sex offender). I am curious to see if they meet again by episode 10 and if it ends on happier note (maybe they become friends years down the road since there will be time jumps).
>(the victimhood fx video shows Claire will be arrested and register as sex offender...
Spoiler alert, buddy. We have spoiler tags for a reason.
Yes but it's a little cliche. Despite her history and more importantly, her boring marriage, Claire just wants to feel that fresh love and excitement again, and Eric has found the first person he actually cares about. Hardly sinister.
I also wonder about people claiming the power dynamic thing, she never abused her power as a teacher, not that there is much power anyway, especially in American public schools, but Eric is almost 18 and knows what he wants and is going for it. No action from either person was under duress or manipulation.

imagine saying this if the genders were reversed, you would be crucified
Can I be a victim?
I completely agree that I'd be crucified, my view doesn't change though. Both parties are old enough, both know what they want, know that it's not 'appropriate', and they face severe consequences, yet both know what they want. Neither is abusing the other.
Claire didnt specifically abuse it but a different person in the scenario could have (i.e fuck me or I will fail u, blackmail, etc...). There is a reason it is wrong in the first place, this show was more about how it destroyed Eric and Claire's relationships to family and friends.
Duel to be Kate's victim
Oh I'm well aware it could be, but I was referring to the show, which is an example of where it isn't.
Yeah it is really well done and ballsy of the showrunners to depict the relationship in this grey area rather than it be black and white. You can tell Claire and Eric care for each other, but at the same time you see the destructive side of Claire and poor choice of judgement she has. Really hoping we get to explore her backstory more. Did they mention if her father died? Maybe she goes to see him after shes out of prison.
