Why did you enjoy The Thief of Bagdad that much?

Why wouldn't a fan of Captain Blood and The Princess Bride like The Thief of Bagdad?

Your reading comprehension is bad. I meant for you to tell me why you enjoyed The Thief of Bagdad to the point that it's in your top 10. It's not a bad movie by any means, but I don't see why you value it that much.

I'm not - I just didn't understand your question.

The Departed
Wayne's World
Barry Lyndon
A Serious Man
The Right Stuff
Fargo
Being John Malkovich

those are the only that feel truly deserving. Honorable mentions
Mystic River
Doubt

The weeping meadow (Angelopoulus)
Third part of the night (Zulawski)
City of sadness (Hou hou hsien)
The sacrifice (Tarkovsky)
Yi yi (Yang)
Blue velvet (Lynch)
The beekeeper (Angelopolus)
The ascent (Shepitko)
Weekend (Godard)
The conversation (Coppola)

It's visually perfect
The story is magnificent even when it's obviously wrapping up. I was deeply touched by innocence, optimism, friendship, and respect, as well as real sadness in the script. Music was great too. It helps that the final act is the best one, the djinni rules.

Ocean's 11
Ocean's 12
Ocean's 13
The Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
The Return of the King
The Great Escape
The Ninth Gate
The Princess Bride
