Original Japanese horror movie, "Ringu"

Just watched this piece of shit and was bored to fucking tears. I don't know why people keep saying "hurr durr teh original was better", when the original movie was so fucking slow and uneventful.

After watching this movie, I literally just laid on my bed brooding in boredom. Normally, when people are bored, they like to play videogames or listen to music or something to entertain themselves; but after watching that movie, I was literally SO bored I lost my motivation to even entertain myself.

Jesus fucking Christ, WHY do people insist that this shitty fucking japanese film is "superior" to the American remake?

This movie doesn't make sense now because who even uses video tapes
CCTVs and smartphones killed horror.

>get two copies of the tape
>get two tvs facing each other
>play it on both
>she dies

Despite all the anime that try to glamorize it Japan looks ugly with its concreted river sides, lack of picturesque buildings and visible electric lines.

>this shitty fucking japanese film is "superior" to the American remake?
It's not. The 2002 remake is far superior.

if you didn't like it then the onus is on you. use this as a moment for self reflection to see how you could respect films in the future. films aren't made for your personal taste of entertainment but for experience regardless of how that experience is interpreted. don't be such a manchild, if you want to be entertained by a movie watch an avengers flick. they are immersive, not interactive.

because the american remake is a soulless cashgrab like always.

The japanese film was fucking soulless too, you weeb shits. Trust me; I know you guys are saying this cause you didn't actually see it, but it was fucking BORING.

I know what "build-up" in a film is, okay? I liked Ben-Hur and Shape of Water and whatever, cause those movies did it well. Ringu, on the other hand, was a boring fucking slogfest of two japanese people walking around talking about bullshit for nearly 2 whole hours.

Goddamn was it fucking bad. It was even worse than bad; it was unentertaining. At least some movies are so terrible that they're sorta good, but Ringu was mind-numbingly banal and uninteresting.

Agreed. Same goes for The Grudge. Now the reboots of both..? No.

I live in Japan and watched a vhs video of what to expect when giving birth at the local clinic when my wife was pregnant. It was a dvd vhs combo player, a real kino machine

I really like the scene where she first sees the videotape on the shelf, they use a cool sound effect

It's fucking violins and strings; oh my fucking god, how impressionable can you be?

Pulse is better than all other j-horrors or muttshit remakes

Based sound effect enthusiast

i disagree, but..
>visible electric lines
i can't defend this. shits hilarious - in some areas the electrical grid is completely nigger-rigged, like i saw some nasty old pole with a tangle of wires and some dude had spliced a 4-socket power board directly to it for his balcony.
