Watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre last night and it was probably the most annoying movie I've ever seen and sucked fucking dick. Very rarely are films that are the first of their kind the best, but they still retain their prestige. Some of these GOAT films are 40-50 years old now, and the medium has evolved while they obviously haven't.

I kinda hope the next movie (if it actually gets made) has a setting more in line with the original. At the time the wasteland setting of 2 and 3 was more original, but now it's a bit played out. I liked 1's weird middle ground between modern day and post apocalyptic. The movie itself was just okay but I think you could do some cool things with that setting.
Fury Road >= Road Warrior > Mad Max > Thunderdome Fuck Thunderdome. It had a neat idea but it felt more like a Disney movie than Mad Max. Road Warrior was probably better for it's time and Fury Road's plot tried too hard, but Fury Road just has better action and more of it. At the end of the day, you're watching Mad Max for the action.
I get that this is bait but it describes the first movie pretty well; it's really nothing special and would probably be forgotten if it weren't for its sequels.
