Now that the dust as settled, what are the best Bollywood films? In particular, historical epics and dramas.
I'm going to watch Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani today. There was another film about a regiment holding out against a siege from Pakistani Muslims (I might be getting the details wrong), does anyone know what that one was called?

I have nothing against india or normal indian films but damn i hate bollywood. Those movies are so extremely annoying. I really dont get the appeal.
any so bad they're good? or are they just all bad
A lot of them have good production value and stuff. But i cant stand musicals in general. The stories are also mostly BOY LOVES GURL BUT HE HAS TROUBLE GETTING HER AND NOW EVERYONE SINGS!!
Now You See Me 2
this. And the accents. If they have something that stands out maybe

I mean basically modern day Bollywood is as diverse as Hollywood. Do you want the traditional old-school Bollywood 3.5 hours singing and dancing boy wants to marry girl-drama? Try Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Do you want spaghetti-western Bollywood? Try Sholay. Do you want a modern movie without most of the stereotypes? I did like Hindi Medium a lot, Pink is also good. Queen was also nice.
I thought Newton was good. Can't stand song and dance but this one didn't have any.
This movie is legit overhyped as a product as its whole shtick is a young adult drama BUT IN INDIA, which might have been something new for bollywood but as a movie itself is nothing spectacular and pretty run-of-the-mill.
do they have any normal movies or is it all singing and dancing and being retarded?
thanks! keep them coming if you want :)
also do you know what film was described in the OP? I remember seeing the trailer but I don't remember the title, it may have started with a K
disco dancer
there are musical numbers for almost all of movies.. Those are big promotional materials. so unfortunately that trend is gonna continue
the pic in op is from jodha akbar, the one about the sikh soldiers is the kesari based on the battle of saragarhi, cannot vouch for either as i have not watched them
youtube.com
Kesari is just hilarious BJP-infused movie nationalism like many of those recent war epics, honestly not interesting as a movie if you are not the target audience of the makers.
>t. Nagoor Babu
as i said, have not watched the movie, the ones coming out now have been of such a poor quality for so long that i do not bother watching them
why is she covered in pizza?
Fair enough, just warning the OP that I would not recommend the movie.
try the ones posted in this thread, they are good from a movie point-of-view
I fucking hate Indians so much, but Bajrangi Bhaijaan is legit 8/10 kino
btw, it's weird the biggest actors in Bollywood are all Muslim. I heard they're treated as second-class citizens in India.
Different standards apply to the rich in India
