I very much agree with the sentiment. Hollywood is too big to fail now and if a film isn't making minimum half a billion dollars it was a waste of time. Even spending that much money means you can't take risks and its why films have become so stale. The second golden age of Hollywood film from the late 60s to the mid - 70s came from the film industry losing to the television and they didn't have a choice but to hire young talent.

Hollywood has become too insular and masturbatory for its own good, the average quality of material they put out has plummeted as they transitioned to become a factory that produces $300 Million dollar blockbusters made to be understood by rural Chinese peasants who don't speak English
Legitimately, the best thing that could happen is that Hollywood as an industry gets rocked to its foundation and is rebuilt by people who actually want to make movies and not just rip people off by making shit movies while skimming a cool $900,000 off of the production budget
