Anyone else pissed with autists who police accents/pronunciation? I mean those fags who will critique a film and say >um actually the actor pronounced this wrong, given the cultural background of the character he would pronounce "enough" with a gutless aspirated voiceless fricative from the back of the throat... the actor didnt quite get this
Fuck of autists. Firstly not everyone has fixed accent, there is loads of variety from the same area because people have different functions, personalities, influences, soul. I'm sure if I starred in a film as a character from my area there would be internet autists saying my pronunciation wasnt correct. Because not everyone is the same.
And secondly not everyone is consistent with their pronunciation. Sometimes I pronounce a word 1 way, sometimes another, it depends my mood and other factors.
Sometimes some people use so called "British words" (lift, wardrobe, post, sofa) and sometimes they use so called "American words" (elevator, closet, mail, couch)
It's not unbelievable in a film when a character doesnt conform exactly to the generalised image you have which you got from a school book you fucking autist
You're the autistic one here, friend Native speakers of an accent can easily tell whether someone is doing good or bad at their accent This guy just lays out what exactly an actor is doing right/wrong
Julian Ramirez
I love seeing videos of pajeets complaining about Apu’s voice while they sound not too far off
Jonathan Sullivan
It's literally his job to teach accents. Why are you mad about this?
Nicholas Long
Don't worry user, in another generation everyone will sound American anyway.
Eli Morgan
This sounds like an actor coping with their crappy accent being criticized
Michael Richardson
Hell yeah, man, everyone should just speak the way they do normally, no need for accent coach jews at all.
Mason Kelly
You're right, accents are rarely consistent. I'm from Birmingham UK but I speak generally like someone from the south with occasional brummie inflections, especially with certain words ("water" being one of them). Being too autistic with dialect came make something come across as unnatural. I notice this when actors perform as real people - they're often very good vocal impressions but it rarely sounds natural. Hershlag as Jackie Kennedy is a good example of that - it feels less like an actual person speaking and more like a recitation.
Carter Martinez
>A dialect coach that critiques dialects? OUTRAGEOUS
Christian Cruz
souls arent real, but other than that, I agree.
Ian Allen
He literally says at the end "I know it's fucking hard. I'm not hating on them. If we want to learn an accent, we all just gotta put in the work. I'm here, to help out actors and actresses, who are willing to put in the work."
Owen Richardson
OP is probably Sam Worthington mad that he can't even do a passing American accent
Eli Hughes
tl;dr nice blog retard
Caleb Reed
The point of the videos is just to chat about accents and linguistics and how they can be broken down. OP is buttmad for some reason.
Cooper Robinson
Go to bed Kevin Costner.
Carson Cook
Imagine being as autistic about a characters appearance as their accent
>This ww1 character is clearly not malnourished, has all his teeth and has non-northern british heritage despite being from sheffield >Wtf where is the trench foot?!
Anthony Hughes
>calls others autists >writes this long winded paragraph Stop seething, whole point of this series is for actual professionals to judge what movies get right and wrong when it comes to realism
Xavier Murphy
>autists >rants and raves about a dialect coach breaking down dialects for entertainment
Zachary Clark
cringe but redpilled
Nicholas Jenkins
If you're playing a real person, then you're going to be judged on how accurate your portrayal is.
Honestly, it bothers me more when I'm watching a historical piece set in an era from which we have surviving audio recordings but the actors talk with modern vocal fry and stuff like that (looking at you, Mad Men).
