Why do nurses do this? All the doctors I know only talk about their particular field (orthopedic Dr. won't pretend to know shit about immunology), and only when you ask them about it. Nurses act like they're 200-lb experts in everything medical because they studied it for 2 years and they do all the shit that's not worth the doctor's time. They're also even better than vegans at wedging "I'm a nurse btw" into every conversation about every topic.

Entirely depends on experience level. If they're young they're full of shit talking about things they know nothing about, but I know of a good few nurses who essentially tell the docs what to do for care for their patients when they're rounding. Those are the ones who've been around for a while and have a decent breadth of knowledge from different areas
