I have 20k saved but no dreams or aspirations. I've saved all my money working a variety of dead-end retail and temp jobs so I don't have a career and I have a useless art degree, now i'm just a dude with a savings and no motivation to live. I don't feel compelled to go back to school because I can't think of any higher education professions that aren't evil. I want to live in a cabin on a mountain. Should I kill myself?

i never understood the suicide meme when you don't have any mental health issues. wouldn't it be much interesting to be homeless for a year, or try to bum it around the world, or start intense meditation or fasting, or get into the best shape of your life. there are tons of more interesting ways to push your body to the edge.

your passion is probably still out there waiting for you, user, but this world is not creative. you should try a couple drastic changes and pursue some weird fucking jobs instead of retail jobs in the western world which is for unimaginative people.

I've bartended for over a decade. I love it, but this reflective period made me realize it's making me miserable.
Friend of mine is in the same boat. They are now working at a scrap yard categorizing parts over the lockdown. They love it.

Sorry I forgot I made this thread, I've been applying for jobs that entail travel like in the tourism industry or national park jobs that provide room and board but I either get a rejection email months later or no response. I'm not in bad shape and recently begun exercising but it's difficult to find motivation when you can't imagine a future for yourself in which you're happy. I think a lot about shaving my head and murdering registered sex offenders because it seems to me like the most effective way to make a direct positive impact on the world.

Fuck the future. Do things that make you happy now. Exercising makes me feel damn good because it release dopamine and shit in my brain. That's why I exercise. Not because I want to be a body builder next year, but because working out makes me feel good

well best of luck. hopefully you find something that you enjoy and can be proud of. i recently lost someone to suicide who was relatively close to me and my family and i can tell you this honestly: even acquaintances and people who you you haven't seen in years would do literally anything to help you in your darkest hour and prevent suicide. also, having been there myself i know how hopeless it can seem.

don't underestimate long fasts for 10 days because it can literally change your brain and outlook on life. that shit is in the bible because it's spiritual.
