That's incorrect. TVIX is constantly decaying to 0 and undergoes regular reverse splits. It makes previous prices look like 10000000 comparison when in reality it may have been $70 at the time.
The right way to buy and sell TVIX is buy low, anticipate a spike, and sell when the spike is nearing the top.
