Worth it for them? Sort of. Worth it for society? Not really. Women are given total and complete support for almost anything they do and the barriers to entry are usually lowered for them in all but the most meritocratic disciplines (how many women are on trading desks or in charge of hedge funds, what about successful business owners, what about pilots, special forces?). Therefore, from the perspective of a woman, it makes sense to pretty much do whatever they want because it's easier and no one is going to do anything but cheer for them every step of the way. Total support of everyone around you is easy to underestimate. From the perspective of society, it's a question of how much efficiency and quality of outcomes are you willing to sacrifice. I think in the long run though you're going to see a lot of miserable women who recognize that in the end sacrificing having children for a more demanding career wasn't a good trade off from a satisfaction standpoint.
