People are having their bosses let them go so they can collect those sweet unemployment checks with the $600 weekly bonus. It's fucking nuts, I don't think they know how hard shits going to get in October. My roommate worked at good will for two weeks and he's now getting $780 week on unemployment. He's bought two 60" flat screens, a laptop and a Xbox. He laughes about it and seriously hopes this never ends. When I tell him its temporary he says they just extended the $600 bonuses for 13 weeks and when I say Congress has talked about giving essential workers an extra $12 hourly he laughs and says it'll never happen and says even if it did its still less then $600 a week. Im seething but its made me focus I'm saving everything I can, working every extra minutes I I can and investing as much as I can. Im even taking 30 minute lunches instead of the usual 45 minutes just to add 1.5 extra hours a week to my checks. I almost want this fucks to get fucked when the $600 stops rolling in every week.

I know guys who are complete degenerate stoner NEETs who haven't held a real job in ages, and they're getting ridiculous unemployment bennies because they do shit like claim the "band" they play in can't do gigs because muh virus, and therefore they need to get 800 dollarydoos a week to make up for it.
Luckily my job is high paying and also essential, and I won't be one of the ones getting laid off when shit hits the fan. For me the benefits of working far outweigh the temporary NEETbux, but for many people, I can't even blame them for taking the money. What a perverse incentive though.
