So is this shit REALLY gonna just keep pumping to new ATH? When the FUCK are people going to wake up to the reality of the next several years? In the 3rd quarter when the economy is "opened back up" and we get Q2 earnings and they are still complete shit?

Passive investing rebalancing has made the market so top heavy jesus christ.

I have ~400k worth in stock right now. One stock that went up recently by a huge amount. I was planning to DCA out into cash. What would you do with 400k? It's not enough to retire. It's a sudden amount of money but I feel nothing.

I will get another 300k over 16 months due to employee stock. but the job is not something I enjoy.

Sell covered calls. You can make 10% per week doing this.

Second wave (even though most of the USA outside of New York is still on their first wave).

It's over, we nuked our economy to fight the flu.

It's possible that our currency just needs to be placed in a real asset (productive or nonproductive) because our money is not really as valuable anymore (as long as you find companies that are coronavirus proof or have so much cash flow it doesn't matter)

Solid blue chips like JNJ or PG are unironically bonds now since bonds are in the deep abyss.

Depends how much time you want to spend researching stocks and how much risk your willing to take.

We have quarantined 2 moths and cases havent really gone down, just sideways. Then we will learn the true power of the Chinese virus. Second wave will be worse because people will refuse to stay in again.

How is the second wave going to be worse nigger. Keep treating this flu like it's airborne AIDS.

everyone under 45 should unironically just stop giving a fuck and get on with their lives. just stay away from elderly. it's finally our time to take over from the boomers

Enjoy finding out they left the house to the cleaning lady.

It is very much in form for boomers to make everything worse if only for their benefit.

woke up 7am local time to sell premarket for the weeknds, feels good. It immediately dropped afterwards

second wave will be worse because:
- We won't be willing to order a shutdown as strict again; there will be too much economic damage in doing it a second time
- Exasperated people wont stay inside; they'll want to return to their ordinary lives
- It'll be running with with the regular flu season

Same reason was second wave of the Spanish Flu was worse. this wont be as bad as the Spanish Flu, but itll be pretty bad. honestly wouldn't be surprised if a million Americans die. thats only 0.3% of our population.
corona is very dangerous for the elderly and the immuno-compromised. its only trivial if you're healthy. inb4: they were all gonna die anyways. well yes, but they weren't all going to die in one year

Its not "airborne AIDs" you schizo. Its just a worse and more contagious flu. And I said why it will be worse, because people will refuse to quarantine again, causing it to go exponential again. We started lock downs 2 months ago, and yet the daily cases are still coming in at a steady rate. It should have been decreasing since there should be less spread occurring. The problem is that it survives for potentially days indoors. This means it will spread rapidly in offices and homes. It will easily resume exponential spread a month after we reopen, and thats the good case. The bad case is if it mutates enough to catch it a second time, then we basically have double the yearly flu, but it happens all year round.

The people who would die from the virus are already dying. 40-60% of the population has already had it almost all without symptoms. It kills fewer than .2% of people under the age of 55 without pre-existing conditions.
Spanish Flu was bad because it mostly killed able bodied younger people, because it triggered a harsh immune reaction which was stronger in the young. Covid is almost exclusively killing the elderly and frail.
It will kill many people, and it will suck, but it won't impact the economy in any meaningful way aside from the misguided shutdowns and uncertainty.
The person who made the original models showing millions dead retracted those papers and was then fired for not following his own suggested restrictions. What does that say about the numbers?

>The people who would die from the virus are already dying
thats the dumbest reason ive ever heard for a virus not having a second wave. by that logic, no disease would have a second wave. "everyone who can die will die. therefore, once it goes through a population once, itll never kill anyone again." what point are you trying to make?
>Covid is almost exclusively killing the elderly and frail. It will kill many people, and it will suck, but it won't impact the economy in any meaningful way aside from the misguided shutdowns and uncertainty.
i do agree that the shutdowns do economic damage, not corona. look at the economy surging through the Spanish Flu

The entire threat from covid is that it's extremely contagious, most people who get it don't show symptoms, and it was allowed to spread far far wider than any comparable disease in the last 50 years save AIDS due to every single fucking government and agency on the face of the earth doing everything wrong
