Can anyone who understands this shit break this down to me? I dont understand nerd talk but i want to understand what i dumped $60000 in. Thanks

it's literally nothing. your shitcoin is about to tank

this is all you need to understand. Below does exactly what they have spent 6 months working on

math.random()

basically sergey is the demiurge

Oh ok cool, so nobody else here gets it

In programming it's standard to have a call to a random function built in. Any time you need to use a random number, languages provide this capability to you.

ChainLink is now providing this capability to smart contract developers.

>asks to be spoonfed something completely straightforward
>throws an instant hissy fit as soon as he doesn't get a full reply
how about you just fuck off you brat

you can just see sergey scanning modules of code trying to find something he can construe as novel and wrap it up in buzzwords and powerpoint slides to keep his hapless baghholders satiated for another month
>ah...erm...VRF!

This. It's going sub $2

im not a virgin

basically the ability to create truly random numbers/data in the blockchain creates a superstrong cryptographic use, plus the uses for gaming, lotterys, etc

posted in another thread, maybe this will make it more easy to see

you heard it hear first folks, the real use for chainlink is a niggernet for internet gambling. you cant make this stuff up

so Sergie and team stole this concept and implemented as their own? idgi

bait

Yes yes seethe seethe , your fud is as weak as are your hands

Programming random number generators sounds extremely simple on a superficial level. Even the most basic C++ classes have students program games with "random number generators". However this is deceptive, because the nature of the random number generation has underpinnings in the logic gates/transistors that allow for the program to run. The upshot of this is that random number generators that "take 5 minutes to put together in Javascript" the FUD anons are describing can be exploited easily and represent an attack surface which could undermine several use cases in blockchain that require them, gaming being one obvious among these. By being able to cryptographically "prove" that a number generated is truly random, that further provides both defense in depth and trustless execution of a smart contract that relies on random numbers such as online gaming.

>financial audits
>legal metrology
imagine being so deluded you think these institutions will be purchasing LINK tokens. the absolute state of your bags

Hrs just repeating what you said. How is that fud you imbecile?

Thank you, this makes sense now. Basically im going to be fucking rich

Yes. This is a big fucking deal and we are all going to be rich as fuck.

This is the correct answer. Anons, think about situations where a random selection must occur in an exchange with multiple parties. Now think about how difficult it is to prove that whatever generated the number wasn’t tampered with. How do you know a number is in fact random? Chainlink solves that. Well, apparently, I haven’t read the blog post or the details yet.

This sounds like it was written like Sergey

> “One day [‘World of Warcraft’ game maker] Blizzard removed the damage component from my beloved warlock's Siphon Life spell. I cried myself to sleep, and on that day I realized what horrors centralized services can bring. I soon decided to quit,” Buterin wrote.
WAAAAAA REEEEEEE MUH SPELL REEEEEEEEE

Honestly if you can sell chihuahuas door-to-door then you can sell adult diapers on eBay. Just stay positive and keep your chins up.

Jesus did you even try to read other threads that have already explained it in detail

No its more for OTP generation. The team just created a whole new monetization stream for nodes without even needing API data it would appear.

is this the new pee pee poo poo?

I think you’re confusing non-pseudo random number generation with secure pseudo-random number generation

lmao, this nigga is still going to generate pseudo random numbers

they'll just be "verifiable on the blockchain"
