Clearly not everybody in a "do what you love" boat

Everything with success in life one way or another leads to these 4 magic "do-what-you-love" words. And you get this as an answer from everything alive if you want to try to go places.

well i'm 34 and there so happens to be that i never loved to do anything not professionally and at this point not even personally anymore. It unfolds in a really pathetic life irl.Low end jobs... I dont think i need to bother you with details. Atm i'm trying to learn something i dont like but it should pay just ok if i get there. But i dont like it, and i'm gonna to fail as i did before in similar scenario.

Need some thoughts and perspectives of people who whether are or been where i'm.

Maybe what you love is being an unambitious cunt, and doing nothing is your version of success

It's because you didn't do what you loved

trips of truth op just do what you love

You me user? Same age and I'm an under achieving existentialist. You thought about starting your own business?

You need to learn how to love what you do. Doing what you love is a meme

At this point you should just try drugs

I got a "good job" (paycheck, in my degree, 401k boomer shit) right out of college. It paid well, but I learned within a year or two I despised being a company man. Not that job, but jobs.
I kept the job cuz it was easy as shit and paid well, but I did all sorts of stuff on the side to see if i liked it.
Got a job bartending, started a freelance writing company, started an online store (started a lot.. then one made money lol).
I didn't like being an entrepreneur much more than I disliked being a wagie.
I started substitute teaching, and digged teaching. I'm currently getting a credential.
In the meantime, i saved enough money (and made crypto gains) so i can afford a small paycheck and some time off if i decide i hate teaching after all.

I love reading and writing - shit unrelated to my career. I'm happy if i can do those things. Hobbies are even easier to dabble in then careers.

Try different things bro. You don't have to "YOLO" and live fast all the time.
Life gives you chances to dabble. Stay positive, and dabble ;)

I like making dinner for and making love to cute asian girls. How do I profit off this?

Seeing this image physically hurts me. Pretty much ruined my day before it even started. Thanks OP.

Youre not crazy. The do what you love meme was created by people who are filthy rich or had rich famillies that could pay for them to do what they want. The average person has to struggle. I work at a large bank, hate my job but pays more than any job ive worked so I do it anyways bevause one day I may be financially set. We cant all afford to drop everything and be championship rock climbers.

I love money so I stopped doing chemistry and started doing finance. Fuck stem.

I fell for the do what you love meme and studied graphic design and work as a graphic designer now.

Not only does it pay shit, I also fucking hate doing it now. Just end me already.

blessed post

the truth is all of life is lie. you have been lied to by the media, parents and society in general.

there is no such thing as romantic love, enjoyable work or real friends.

the only thing that ever brought joy in life is my son

find a cute asian girl who enjoys good food and is also rich

What kind of writing, and do you get a lot of business? I'm intrigued by the idea, but I don't have a lot of background (other than meme liberal arts degree).

The trick is to try out as many things as possible. You will end up hating most of it, but some jobs, hobbies etc seem to be if not better, slightly less shit. Then you need to analyze the slightly less shitty ones and see what aspects of them you actually liked. Then try to go to a direction that puts those aspects in your way, and keep refining your focus. There comes a point where you find something that is kind of allright, if not even pleasant. Then try to get good at that, or some aspect of it. Once you are good enough, you will enjoy it as well as get paid for it. "Do what you love" is good and shit advice at the same time, as nobody ever explains you how to find the thing you love if you already don't know it. And not many people know it. It is an iterative process.

I write nonfiction essays for fun. I had been for years when i decided to try to profit off of my hobby.
I setup an upwork account and found it pretty easy to scale the business.
>Do a few projects for like $5
>Do a good job
>Get 5* reviews
>Charge more

I was able to build up to $50/hour doing 3-4k a month part-time. I lost interest after like 6 months of this, but there was incredibly high demand for work.
(Sorry Pajeets) A lot of the competition charging no money didn't have fluency to write quality articles (mostly sales pages for small businesses) and they couldn't connect with an audience. I was able to do that.
If you have a skill (writing, photoshop, web design), I recommend learning a little bit about sales and marketing and starting on a freelance website like I did.

Go work on your personal development. Start reading some books that you normally would not pick up.
Lot of people are unhappy, as they have a continuous running commentary in their head of how shit they are doing. Its very common, just not something talk to friends about or post on facebook.
Highly recommend book like untethered soul. And if you dont feel to happy, you really have no reason to not try some new things.

1. Start working in restaurants
2. Find a steakhouse
3. Work until you're a tipcuk server
4. make a ridiculous amount of money for knowing how to pair wine with food

Two disclaimers to add to my post.
I'd been writing fo years for fun, including running a blog. So I practiced writing for an audience and practiced selling ideas (that translated to products or services on upwork).
Also, I built social skills generally and was comfortable with rejection but also the process of selling, which was new to me.

fren, these are likely whores. you can buy two of them for the night yourself. keep your head up

>nonfiction essays
That's right up my alley, though as you've suggested I need to take some time and learn how to sell. Thanks for the advice - I think I'll get started and see what I can do.

Good luck to ya fren.
Start with AIDA (marketing) ;)

but all women are whores

1 - save up some money to live off of for 3 months
2 - sell everything you own & move out to a poorer place like puerto rico
3 - work on yourself there for 3-6mos budget accordingly
4 - profit

Did u try to just bee urself???

Try paying Dash aka dead cop $$$

sounds like your dopamine circuit is fucked up. in order for "do-what-you-love" to work you have to be able to love doing things.
check your diet, workout, drug usage. maybe consult some professional if you're feeling that you're not as motivated as you should be, nothing to be ashamed of.

Consider getting an evaluation of your executive function skills. That might be a long term issue preventing you from feeling engaged and committed to stuff.

OP you may not love anything, but what about hate? Don’t you just fucking hate some people like journalists, commies, Twitter turds? Don’t waste your life on a shit existence. Get out there and make a difference! (Wear a GoPro)

Restaurants are ded because of Rona
