Why do Vanguard ETFs get so much hate on here?

Index funds outperform the majority of actively managed mutual funds in the long-run.

Because most fags on here don't have jobs or any money so they want to gamble on scam cryptos in the hopes of finding the one that will give them 10 000% returns

t. zoomer

Because most of us are under 30 years old when you should be taking the biggest risks of your life rather than being a little scared shitface trying to retire at 64 rather than 65.

Link has done that for me already. UND will do it in 2021.

You're not suppose to make retarded risks though. You'll lose all your money on cryptoscams then be scrambling to save up for retirement at 30+.

100% truth.
If you only have

Literally this
ETFs are not volatile. They are good, steady, long term gains. You're not going to randomly make 200% overnight, but you're also not going to go down 100% overnight either. But many people on this bored just want to "make it" in a short period of time with little money. You can't do that with proper investing, so they turn to crypto gambling.
Don't follow them user. Stick to ETFs and make your comfy gains. There's a reason you see rage posting all the time on this board. It doesn't matter if you make 40% for the day when it immediately drops and never comes back up.

I've never bought a single cryptoshit.
There are countless fundamental issues with every single one and the endless drama associated with it is annoying.

Fair enough.
I have around 2/3 of my money in index ETFs and the rest I actively trade with.

>long run
fuck off apu! we cant see that far!

ETF bubble

This. End thread. It comes down to zoomers being spoiled impatient little cunts who want everything handed to them including UBI and goberment handouts. Fuck this entitled Bernie bro mentality. These fags will get burnt bad when their get rich quick schemes collapse on their heads while they talk shit from a computer in mommies basement.

The toxic agricultural products will more than likely have me meet my demise before I have enough time to build compound interest like that, also my unstable life and the competitive job market has made it near impossible for younger people to be able to build a pension or save for retirement. Crypto is the only way out for unfortunate millennials who can bust their ads to accumulate a stack.

Retard. You make mistakes and take risks when you’re young because you can recover from it. Not when you have a mortgage, 2 kids, and diabetes

DYOR. If something sounds too good to be true, especially a product, it probably is.

When eth goes to 10k, I’m going to be laughing at you so fucking hard

Zig Forums doesn’t actually know anything about finance or the economy or investing. It’s a bunch of retards who think crypto currency is the solution to the worlds problems. The average retard on here has a sub 100k portfolio.

It isn't too good to be true though - low return is a trade off for low risk.

We will all be dead before that ever happens

Don't be fooled by the name, Zig Forums is actually here for crypto-gambling and for embracing superstition and mob mentality to "make it" (=most likely lose all your money)

I agree but the time frame is just to long. I dont want to make it at 65 and die 2 days later so I also crypto gamble on a waaay smaller scale than what it put into ETFs...also if I ever get big crypto gains most will go into ETFs for further growth

>WHY YES I DO HAVE DEPOSIT 2% OF MY PAYCHECK INTO HIGHLY DIVERSIFIED LOW EXPENSE VANGUARD ETFS MATCHED 1% BY MR NOSEBERG HOW COULD YOU TELL
>I FOLLOW JACK BOGLE STYLE OF INVESTING ILL BE A MILLIONAIRE WHEN IM 85 I JUST SET IT AND FORGET IT JUST WALK AWAY LOL LIVE YOUR LIFE
Vanguard is for r*ddit cult

low risk is a meme that Murphy posts everyday

Yeah so let's go gamble our money at the casino. We're young we can take on maximum risk!

That's some epic hyperbole LOL! You really made us look very silly and dumb!

You can take risks without completely fucking your life over because your financial obligations are minimal.

Nobody said go spend all your money at a casino retard. Men with high testosterone are naturally attracted to high risks. Sorry you’re a limp dick faggot.

>Nobody said go spend all your money at a casino retard

You'd have better odds with that then trying to "invest" in cryptoscams, which is exactly what the conversation was about.

Protip: Look up 99% of the bullshit peddled and shilled on Zig Forums over years, pretty much all of those coins are defunct. Look at a website like deadcoins that catalogues hundreds of exitscams, dead projects and so on.

>Men with high testosterone are naturally attracted to high risks. Sorry you’re a limp dick faggot.

MUH testosterone ME WANT SEX SEX SEX FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK.

>that image
Yet all those high test alpha traders mostly do not beat the market and either go broke or do far worse despite spending shitloads on time on it.
>inb4 survivorship bias examples of some guy who got lucky and gambled his way up

Alright virgin. Cry more and enjoy your planned retirement at the ripe age of 65. You’ll have 1 year of freedom until you die of a heart attack from something startling your delicate ass.

>Cry more and enjoy your planned retirement at the ripe age of 65
>Le hyperbole face

I'm on track to retire at ~40 (or even younger) at my current pace because I actually have a good job and I consistently invest my money with a reliable strategy that doesn't consist of gambling on Indian scams "mooning".

You on the other hand can enjoy your Smith & Wesson retirement plan when your McDonalds savings evaporate into thin air.

Which ETFs do you anons recommend? Also why ETFs over index funds?

i'm investing in VOO but there's also VTI which tracks the entire stock market and some others that focus on divvies.

I'm in Canada but my allocation is 40% US 30% Can 20% international and 10% Emerging markets.

>Also why ETFs over index funds?
Might be different in the US but here they're the same thing except ETFs are traded on an exchange and there's a bid-ask spread.

I do a little of everything I have a low risk IRA for my retirement, and I have a medium risk portfolio for the shorter term. I also buy gold and silver. I'll also buy crypto or penny stocks to see If I can make big gains. The way I see it I'm young and I'm not buying plastic shit or a new phone every year so eventually I'll find what works for me and will learn along the way.
