Unemployed people are free to consume and businesses get to lighten their payroll which is the most costly part of running a business. i don't know but i just got approved for unemployment. i'm a college student who made about $2000 total last year working maybe 20 hours a month tops at a theater (not a movie theater but a concert venue). now i'm making $800 a week until the end of july and there's no way the theater is reopening anytime soon since i live in NY and massive gatherings are going to be off limits for months still.
i went from making 2k a year to earning $800 a week playing video games and shitposting. god bless the USA!
