You complained of a mysterious sound and they did an inspection. Resealing the oil pan may have only take a. Few minutes but the inspection would have take. Time which is what you are being billed for even if you declined the recommended work uncovered in the inspection. You may not agree with the hourly rate (dealers are outrageous) but there isn’t anything surprising here.

Next time ask for the estimate up front before approving even the inspection.

your car probably holds 5 quarts of oil and it was 1 quart low because your ghetto ass oil pan was leaking. consider it money well spend as that $400 gasket job saved you a fuck ton of money considering you're too retarded to check your own oil levels and likely would have seized the engine up after running it dry.

Btw, pulling an oil pan is literally nothing. Buy some gasket maker. Drain the oil. Pull the pan. Scrape the old gasket off. Use new gasket maker sealant. Put pan back on. Fill with new oil. Change oil filter while you're at it.
