I wear an N95 respirator when I'm out and about and frankly I may never stop now because it lets me cover my ugly mug in public, I don't have to worry about shaving my stubble to be presentable (I look like a serial rapist if I go three days without shaving normally), I don't have to fucking smile or say hello to random passersby. Honestly it's kind of heavenly.
Whether you're pro-lockdowns or pro-reopenings, masks are just a no-brainer. Unless, again, you think corona literally doesn't exist or doesn't have the r0 and asymptomatic transmission rates that experts are saying they do.

It's a really stupid problem. The people that choose not to wear a mask because muh freedoms, are putting other people at risk. Does it only matter if YOUR rights are violated, but not mine? I would estimate around 40% wear masks where I live. Personally I do not wear a mask, simply because I have no clue where to buy an effective mask in the UK, but I have a perfect BMI and health overall, so I am not too worried. I only go out to buy food anyway.

I think you are misunderstanding. Masks are made ineffective when people put their grubby hands on their face. You should put on your mask at home, and then do not take it off until you have washed your hands. If you take it off in your car after you have been out in public, you could transfer the virus from your hands to your face by doing so.
