LOCKDOWN FOREVER!!!!!!!

>why yes i support totalitarian regimes. how could you tell?

Kolanovic writes that "in the absence of conclusive data, these lockdowns were justified initially. Nonetheless, many of these efforts were inefficient or late" meanwhile more "recent studies indicate that full lockdown policies in some European countries did not produce any change pandemic parameters (such as growth rates R0) and hence might not have yielded additional benefits vs. less restrictive social distancing measures" where the case study of Sweden is most prominent.

Kolanovic elaborates on this point as follows:
Figure 2 below show virus spread rates before and after lockdown for different countries around the world, and Figure 1 shows the spread for US states that have re-opened. In particular, regression shows that infection rates declined, not increased, after lockdowns ended (for US states we show most recent R0 vs R0 on the day of lockdown end, and for countries we show infection rates). For example, the data in Figure 2 shows a decrease in infection rates after countries eased national lockdowns with >99% statistical significance. Indeed, virtually everywhere, infection rates have declined after reopening even after allowing for an appropriate measurement lag. This means that the pandemic and COVID-19 likely have its own dynamics unrelated to often inconsistent lockdown measures that were being implemented.

Further slamming the continuation of full lockdowns, Kolanovic then writes that "the fact that re-opening did not change the course of pandemic is consistent with mentioned studies showing that initiation of full lockdowns did not alter the course of the pandemic either. These virus dynamics are perhaps driven by the elimination of the most effective spreaders, impact on the most vulnerable populations such as in nursing homes, common sense measures unrelated to full lockdowns (such as washing hands, etc.)and weather patterns in the northern hemisphere, etc."

To be sure, the lockdowns remained in place "while our knowledge of the virus and lack of effectiveness of total lockdowns evolved." However, at the same time, "millions of livelihoods were being destroyed by these lockdowns. Unlike rigorous testing of potential new drugs, lockdowns were administered with little consideration that they might not only cause economic devastation but potentially more deaths than COVID-19 itself."

>lockdowns don't work when everyone still has to go to the grocery store

no one could have predicted this

Link?

1k eoy

then why lockdown at all???????

Government wants to appear like they are doing something or that they can handle the situation to keep people with a peace of mind.

Pro tip: they can’t

Because it stopped the spread. The only people you're going to convince otherwise are utter retards and schizos

Lmao

If the lockdowns turns out to have been a waste of time due a second wave, i will only blame all the fucking retards who found it too hard to just keep their fucking distance and use the bottle of sterilizers that is placed everywhere. Even at the peak panic, all the pensioneers were sitting bundled together in cafes and bingo meetings

Figure 2 below show virus spread rates before and after lockdown for different countries around the world, and Figure 1 shows the spread for US states that have re-opened. In particular, regression shows that infection rates declined, not increased,
>declined
>declined
>declined
>AFTER REOPENING

but they told me second wave if open now????? should be opposite?????

90% of the population is dumb as fuck and they just wanna see big daddy government "do" something because they're not capable of analyzing the situation themselves.

The government is afraid of losing votes and therefore they "do" something about it to pander to the sheep. Then they use fear to justify what they did.

>LET ME WORK!!!
>YOU CAN'T JUST LOCKDOWN FOREVER!!
>CAN WE JUST GET SOME NORMALCY BACK IN OUR LIVES FOR GOD SAKES!!!!!!!
>MY POOR MASSAH NEEDS A NEW YACHT!!

You can’t tell Americans what to do, and you can’t tell boomer westerners why to do.

Hell, here’s a secret:
>You can’t tell anyone given a modicum of free expression what to do without a stick

You live in a society with too many carrots and not enough sticks.

Are you retarded? The “first wave” was literally just a bad cold that went around...

This wall fall on death ears.
COVID is funny because while normies and reddit teir people eat it up by virtue of being normies, Zig Forums also eat it up becase they are mostly NEETS or shut in types, and a covid lockdown socety that increases their gibs, or at leasts lets them stay at home and be vegetables is actually an ideal state for them. they are generally introverted loners, struggle socially, and cant get laid even at the best of times, so having the world conform to their struggles makes them happier.

It's been really interesting watching how Zig Forums agree with the media jew the moment it appeals to them.

Yea how the fuck did so many anons fall for this? There's no way. People on this website are socially retarded and therefore immune to propaganda. It's always been a strong point here.

>elimination of the most effective spreaders
BASED BoomerRemover

exactly, now you're starting to ask the real questions

fear makes people do funny things.

i already knew this was all bullshit months ago. i looked only at the numbers and never watched any media coverage of it.

>lockdown ended at when the infection rate was going down

good :)

this has literally been the biggest event in our generation's history, we are going to fucking french revolution the boomers in 10 years. be glad expecially if you are in your 20s and have cashed in on the recent market horseshit

Democracy was a mistake

There are literally no carrots for men, feminism has ruined the relationship between the genders

No, I don't care what your bullshit figures show. You might as well show me climate change charts. It's simple logic that you stop the spread of a contagious disease by keeping people apart. You can't argue with that unless you are flat out mentally ill.

Incubation is 2 weeks. Not enough data yet

No you fucking moron. This clearly shows that it's an anticontageous disease that spreads by people being apart.

Unless you are like 70+ years old with a bunch of pre-existing health conditions the virus is a meme, people IRL are acting like this shit is the bubonic plague or some shit

i hope we stay locked down. i enjoy working from home, i enjoy the lack of normgroids on the highways, i enjoy the 6' normgroid buffer in public. the only thing i don't like is the empty shelves at the grocery store or the (((inflation))) i'm beginning to see on food. other than that, it's great.

>No, I don't care what your bullshit figures show.
strong cognitive dissonance. social distancing isn't the same as lockdown orders. this entire fiasco could have been handled the way sweden did it. you actually stop spread by allowing for herd immunity.

sweden has been essentially BAU since this shitshow

Sucks nobody ever thought to make a republic where only white, land-owning men over the age of 21 could vote, with severely limited central government, state appointed senators, and a constitutional clause limiting currency to gold and silver.

if it makes you feel any better, there isn't any democracy in the states to begin with. just puppets controlled by puppets controlled by puppets.

quality pic. upvoted.

It worked in NZ. Virus is gone

The virus is never going away you dumb faggot, and the point of lockdowns was to spread out the deaths over a long period of time not to save lives
A second wave is inevitable whether you lock down or not
