how does this extend to broader human society as a whole? how could society be constructed around these types of dynamics as a means to control a population of millions or billions? The need for attachment is exploited for purposes of mind control and the world wars are these theories put into practice.
How does this attachment extend to God? Do we feel resentful for what we think is him being aloof? Or are we secure and faithful in our relationship with God and others around us in our daily lives?
If we do not, who stands to gain from us not feeling secure in our relationships? I say that true material wealth is having good health and good relationships and interactions with the people in your life

> how does this extend to broader human society as a whole? Off hand from the first video: People love patterns that's why we see things in clouds. Control and familiarity are needed to instill susceptibility to particular patterns but only if they provide us with a net positive gain (usually in terms of expectation). That's also why chain stores with high quality control are so popular (MacDonald's etc.).
Dylan Baker
Self interest is served if we believe it has been served. Fluctuations may occur in terms of quality of parenting and expectations (rational choice theory) but some may actively make decisions that lead themselves to new paths (what may be termed a theory of irrationality - drug dealers, pornstars, and the like for example). But we shouldn't be hasty with these conclusions as youth often make decisions that seek to amplify the moment at the expense of the future (probably opportunity for capitalization on impatience).

>how could society be constructed around these types of dynamics as a means to control a population of millions or billions? If we determine that a certain percentage of people will interact in particular ways then encourage them to interact in those ways yes it is certainly possible. Likewise with elements like controlled opposition, corporate cultures, and standardized testing - they all seek to categorize and segregate in PC ways. The application of chainlink to deterministic smart contracts is in all likelihood another type of the same mechanism for control. However probabilistic mechanisms for control are far more volatile than deterministic mechanisms so fewer bribes and cults required to control but most of the population will be unaware of why particular barriers exist. More likely they will just accept these and interact within them. Criminality on the blockchain will be interesting in the years to come. Drugs were just the beginning. Ari isn't missing the mark with assassination marketplaces. Go and read Neuromancer for moar info lurkers

you mind is a powerful thing if you can unlock its potential to interact with ideas without drugs. some might need drugs to reach that level though anons.

Force a pervasive social situation where all voluntary interactions between two consenting individuals are mediated by and dependent on the whims of a fickle arbiter so much that the individuals can no longer expect anything of each other. I dunno, like arresting people for going to the gym if they have a slight coof.

I’ve done mushrooms a handful of times It isn’t recreational that’s for sure. Marijuana is something I partake in regularly. It helps me focus, like a soft natural ritalin. Not everyone reacts the same though so I wouldn’t just blanket recommend these substances to others even though I believe it can be beneficial if done under the right circumstances. And just like alcohol, teenagers should avoid it. Synthetics like pills and cocaine should be avoided at all costs. They will permanently damage you if not outright kill you in short order.
>But we shouldn't be hasty with these conclusions as youth often make decisions that seek to amplify the moment at the expense of the future Brains aren’t fully formed yet so they still have issues with delaying gratification for future long term benefit. The concept of time and my understanding of it becomes clearer as I get older.
Go to pol you “enlightened messiah” nobody in biz cares are “souls” are corrupt if anything. “You are your own God” is new age bullshit steeped in materialistic narcissism and glorifying humanity’s own intellectual capacity for reason and understanding that only scratches at the surface of the incomprehensible and divine.

Logic is the language of God, so if you can understand any amount of logic you can get a small taste of It. All we can do as humans is keep building until the sand castle collapses and we start over again or we create something that supersedes us. Our brains are not equipped to "really understand things" if that's at all possible. We are builders and transcribers, maybe our robot children will be able to understand more.

One day I would like to meet you fren, I’m quite sure I never will though. Maybe in the citadel. The way you look at the world truly opens up my eyes, you are a teacher.

Do you believe that if you didn't have all these drugs or chemicals, you would be depressed as you wouldn't have anything to fill the void?

just watched part 1 of that documentary, great stuff what people forget is that this has all happened before, in ancient Athens. Any type of thought on democracy and the desires of the masses has been discussed by playwrights and philosophers there. Any type of opportunistic use of democracy has been exercised by its politicians already. Men like Roosevelt and Perikles, men like Trump and Kleon, coups like by the 100 and Hitler's coup. The dangerous desires of the masses have been discussed by Plato many years before the Freuds existed. it's all repeating the archetypes in a slightly different, more technologically nuanced variations. If you want to know what is to come, read Thucydides.
I'll give you my theory on the Eleusinian mysteries.
McKenna is correct in that they took drugs, but the vital part of the mystery is missing. Narcissus.
If you read the Homeric hymn to Demeter, detailing the story of Persephone, the key ingredients are listed in the myth. She travels to the underworld by being seduced by the Narcissus flower, and is later allowed travel back to the world of life after swallowing a seed supplied by Hades.
If you look up the properties of the Narcissus, especially as described by Plutarch, it stimulates a lethargy of the limbs and numbs the nerves. Sophocles refers to narcissus crown as "the crown of the Great Godesses" (referring to Kore, Persephone and Demeter)
Also the death symbolism in the story is evident: Persephone travels through the underworld through the narcissus and is given a seed to return to life in cyclical turns.
What they did at these mysteries, thus, must have been to swallow this concoction based on the narcissus to go into a sort of false death. The participants then caught a glimpse of the afterlife, affirming that it is real, and returned to life.
This explains also why Socrates/Plato is so convinced about it. Alcibiades (who is charged with distributing the Eleusinian mystery at a feast) was Socrates' dearest student.
The myth of Er as put forward is not a myth at all. It is what he saw at the Eleusinian Mysteries.
