They will but LP rates will be better and they have a huge leg up on service offerings. Ultimately it would make sense for Coinbase to try to buy LP for the tech except that there’s no way Coinbase would buy tech that dilutes their revenue as much as LP would. So it’ll likely remain a substantial standalone service. Most nodes will be fuck-all but ownership stake in the few really high quality nodes which operate exclusively on the LP marketplace will be enough. I would have bought if I could have, at this point, too pricey compared to just buying LINK outright.

If you don't own LP then you won't be given priority staking preferences, which means you'll have to sign up on a waiting list in hopes someone decided to unstake their position. What would motivate someone to unstake their position? You don't seem to understand how difficult it's going to be to stake on LinkPool. If you don't use LP to stake LINK as soon as room is possible you're going to be on a waiting list forever.

Friendly reminder wetez will let you stake link without spending 8k on a token. LP shills make threads so they have someone to buy there bags at an inflated price
