this was such a disaster but I’m still holding. either I lose $2000 or this goes back to 2k sats within a few months. this is the first project I’m genuinely excited about and emotionally attached to in over 3 years. I’ve seen hundreds of projects come and go but this one gave me btc cypherpunk vibes and the devs seemed legit from the weekly network/client updates and the ama. hopefully all can be fixed before mainnet and sharding implemented without disastrous results.

Ive been in btc/crypto for a long time and this is only a small part of my portfolio, I know good and well what hopium is and I still have it for this project. would like it to succeed just on fundamentals/tech alone. this news is objectively an undeniable setback and something to be skeptical of though. long-term faith was reduced as identities were suspended today, and that’s reflected in the price.

i want to have the same optimism as you but damn user...devs admittedly fucked our shit up and are pulling the >testnet meme bullshit when they've previously made very fucking clear we've been in an experimental mainnet (medium.com/idena/idena-community-report-current-state-and-next-steps-dce97a0e3034)

one would assume it be similar to Ethereum's original DAO exploit/rollback, where an experimental new chain's consensus mechanism (hardforks) its way back to a level playing field, or at the very least gather community sentiment, after the majority of its network shareholders have been fucked over....but nah.

A rollback was what I was hoping for. It wouldn't be the first time it's happened, even to "bluechip" cryptos. Agreed that sentiment has become more lackluster after today. I would assume an experimental mainnet would still allow for a do-over of this epoch, and devs have been consistent about listening to the community and implementing or changing features based on feedback, hence why the report % was changed. Holding (and hopefully mining with a Zig Forumsraeli's help) til sharding or quadratic voting or until hell breaks loose and the sink ships. Sure hope the latter doesn't happen but I'm on board regardless. Also jelly of the stack.

i appreciate your optimism, user. we sure do need it. i ask myself how ehtereum would have faired long-term without its DAO fuck-up rollback...(un?)fortunately we're about to find out with the 2,000 node sample size that is idena.

Actually, I'm not gonna lie (which wouldn't be based). I killed my node last night as I knew I wouldn't be able to attend because of a roadtrip I had planned for months ago today (only vacation of the year and I work remotely)..I was about an hour on the road at 9:30 when validation happened, checked tg/biz in the next 20 minutes and saw hell breaking loose. Pretty happy I kept my stake last night since I probably would've been killed today regardless. My cat really did get put down a couple weeks ago though, the day before validation :( I'll accept c****r invite on principle and still promise what I said before.

isn't totally inaccurate and dishonest. In my life for the past couple weeks, when it rains, it pours. I can't even enjoy a vacation without an asset I'm emotionally and financially invested a. crashing in price, b. glitching and kicking off half of the nodes, and c. validation being on the one day of the year I need to be on the road by 8am. Not to mention losing a literal family member in the past couple weeks that I practically grew up with for 15 years. Fuck you too.
