Help me understand here. Let's say I set a stoploss at -10% and take profit at +30%. The trade goes against me. My initial 100% money becomes 90% money and I go into a trade with the same odds again. My first question is here: Why would taking loss and buying something else help here? I already lost money and am down to 90%. Taking loss only seems to make sense if a down move by 10% invalidates my long thesis. If it doesn't though and I think that up is still likelier then holding would make more sense than selling. Do %based stop losses really only make sense in regard to meme lines? I don't see how it helps for sentiment based trading.
