Should I access my Super?

Australians have the opportunity to access their superannuation (retirement fund) right now, up to $20k. A lot of people are saying super is a scam, and everyone should take the opportunity to get their money out.

I would use it on a house deposit. I already have enough for a house deposit, but this would give me more.

Yes. Put it all in LINK then buy a house outright in a few years.

Absolutely do it as long as you're not going to blow it on stupid shit. If you end up not using it you can put it back in.

Judging by where you come for financial advice I'd say the money is safer with the government.

based, get your money,

you really think its gonna be there in 2050?

now imagine placing it into crypto til then?

Ok im gonna do it

I got 8k out

I took 10k and plan to take another 8k

legit saving money just by not letting them loose it. Super is a fucking scam, I was a full on believer in it until I saw the fee's and the absolute trash they invest with, its like a managed fund you get no say in its fucked. even if you move to a good super and self manage you still put up with their stupid skimming fee's. Its a scam.

>work overseas for a while
>don't give a shit about super
>come back to stralya
>mum talks about getting my super from overseas and i think it's nothing

Turns out I had a few thousand and got it all.
But what's the process of getting your super out in Australia?

drag your nuts across broken glass usually but they let it rip like open season because of covid.

Ye i agree, I'm gonna get some more out once July 1st comes along

yeah onya, I'm still in cash desu but moving it around new savings accounts to scrap up that bonus interest. lol more returns then my shitty super

Log into the ato via mygov and you should be able to figure it out from there, it's p easy

I don't know I'm gonna do with mine, I don't need it but still wanted access to it now and not in like 45 years
I had a mate that just spent his super on a pc, kayak and fishing gear lmao

So where are you putting it?

The only place I'd put it is into an index fund or something, I'll just spend it on dumb shit if I take it out now and my finances are ok.

Just keeping it in savings, if you only have a few thousand then might as well take it out, it won't hurt

>savings

Inflation is going to fuck us though, or do you only mean for a year or so then investing in something?

Yep until I find something to invest in

Makes sense, i'm looking at index funds but so many in Australia are tied up in fucking property and I want it to crash so can't invest in good conscience.

I saw RACQ bank offering fixed term deposits, they were a joke, 1yr @ 1.6% p.a, fucking blow me. Might go with vanguard for their index or nabtrade and use their indexes. Vanguard recently (like, last few weeks) came out with an app.

Do it cunt

as a fellow Australian I will not tell you to buy Chainlink but I will tell you that I am 100% sure it is the best possible investment on any market right now, and offers an unbeatable risk/reward ratio. I'm not saying to put 100% of your super in, but even just 10k will likely change your life

I have been thinking about it too OP.

How much of a scam actually is it? Am I really better off taking it out and just keeping it as opposed to what I might pay in feed with super? Can the amount in my super actually drain because of mismanagement? I haven't been employed for a while so I might check how my balances have been going and if it's been bleeding money I might take it out.

Yes. All in Suterusu. Sell at $200,000. Cash out half. Continue.

DOn't you have to be unemployed to access it? I would love to draw it all out and buy gold.

I've given it some thought, what should I buy?

I wish my country would let me access my retirement fund thing just like that.

Why would you put it in a fucking index fund when you could put it in what will be the best performing asset over the next decade?

Theres a list of people who can get it but basically if you've been affected by corona at all you can access it, even if youve had some hours cut back at work

I literally just told you. Do you want me to spell it out? B U Y C H A I N L I N K

10k AUD is what 1500 stinkies. AUD is trash.

Do it. Fuck those super cunts mate. They're just a hedge for boomers anyway. I took 10k and plan to take another 10k out for bills and maybe a few shitcoins like hbar and lend. I have btc eth and link now and don't want to sell them at the bottom of the bull. Also unemployed thanks to wuflu and having had a gut's full.

Yeah around about that. I got 1800 when I put my 10k in.

Another link scammer. You people are garbage.

i haven't lost my job or working hours, how hard is it to pull money out if you aren't technically eligible? i have heard my gf's friend got hers out by complaining and having a family to raise but she kept working all the way through with no reduction, but my circumstances aren't as dire

Hmmm try going to the ato on mygov and apply for the early release and when they ask why just say your hours were cut, I doubt they'll actually look into it and it wont hurt trying

On paper the idea of pulling super to go into crypto sounds retarded but there is probably some merit to it. Depends on what you think will happen, I honestly believe it will be plundered by our boomer government instead of letting the oldies take an L, they are already floating the idea baka.com.au/politics/federal/drastic-surgery-liberal-senator-andrew-bragg-s-plan-for-superannuation-overhaul-20200527-p54wsp.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#comments
