Personally I find it easy to do if I don't eat until 5 or 6pm. Once you set a time limit on yourself, it makes it very tolerable mentally.

it's all in the equation - if you can't keep the intake down, up the output.

Go for a run, or at least a brisk walk for say 10km, and shave 500 cal or so from your average daily intake and viola(!)

strong black coffee in the AM and intermittent fast every day til around 2pm, ideally 4pm. Also cut out booze, it stimulates appetite and disinhibits, deadly combo for dieters. Also limit empty carbs (chips, pretzels, etc) and try to get most of your calories from fats and proteins. Nuts and unsweetened greek yogurt are godsends for me personally.

Been trying to lose weight for a decade and only those three things in combination have allowed me to make progress. Coffee, 18/6 IF, and sobriety. Was as high as 240lb but I'm finally down to 215 and still going strong. Target 160.
